In regards to Pandaren, they can be fierce - especially in combat. And I just don't see being happy/joyful as this great transgression (especially when, in lore, they had to learn to focus on positive emotions over generations because of Sha). Yeah, I know, stepping outside the zone of jaded apathy makes you "cringe" or "extra" these days. I just don't adhere to that particular philosophy, myself.

That's all true. People conveniently keep forgetting that Shado Pan is a thing. But on the other hand they occasionally overdid that jovial approach with pandas obsession over food and drink (on launch 1 dungeons and 3 scenarios were about booze, for example).

I'm starting to think the text leak is incorrect, as much as I wish it was true. I can't overlook completely ignoring Kalimdor and especially the Night Elves, now that we know they are getting a seed.

If WoW races were based on mass appeal we would have XIV races. The only "sexy human" races we've gotten since TBC Blood Elves are Nightborne, Void Elf (reskin) and arguably Zandalari.

Let's not forget that two of the races that players seemed to want the most from BfA were Sethrak and Ankoan. Snake people and fishmen.

Players want races that look good. And while this can often end up meaning races that look humanoid, it's not a complete overlap, as indeed seen by Mechagnomes, who look very much like gnomes, and by proxy humans. But whose popularity got completely blown out of the water by Vulpera, who are bipedal foxes with no real illusion about being humans.

Players were more excited for Vulpera since they looked good.

The real question is what the Maldraxxus one would be, though it would probably be the bulky gladiators, as they are the only Necrolord race that seems to have visually distinct men and women.

It should be noted that we don't know how Sylvar are made, they don't have "ghosts can turn into them" lore like Kyrian, Venthyr and Necrolords do.

Agreed. I think it is prettttty well distinguished by now that WoW isn't about being sexy and is the "MMO with the wacky races". It's not trying to compete with XIV in what races are available as WOW's strength is the very unique aesthetics, cultures and animations between the races.

However I kind of doubt they would go for another faction war thing so soon... though from the tone of the leak it is not actually a faction war.

Also interesting that the Calia's daughter/son thing could end up with him being trans: I took it as the Scarlets were pretending she was a boy to make his/their claim to Lordaeron more legitimate, but it could very well be a trans character.

Gallywix raid sounds great, but why not in Undermine. And where the fuck is Turalyon? None of these leaks ever mention him.

A number of the Legion races are implied to be corrupted mortals like Eredar, but I don't think ALL of them would be. If this leak is legit I assume this is a miscommunication and we are just meeting more demons that are confirmed to be OG demons.

It feels like a lorehead going to town on the Dragonflight text leak and filling in the dots. Some of it is still wacky though, especially in regards to microclasses being a spec and Covenant ARs (both of which I don't expect ever).

That's the approach to most popular leaks, isn't it? Simply because it is natural to have difficulty separating what we want from what is objectively likely. And people who write these things know that.
