Oh glad to see folks are talking Vrykul. Over by Northrend and Dragons? You know they're showing up.

Maybe they're our hook for a Dragoon Dragon Knight class.

If they introduce a Dragon Knight and greatswords cannot be used I will throw a fit.

Based on the bricks placed by the astute folks in this thread, I'll say I think the race is Drakkyr, and their dragon form will be Storm Drake-ish, and their humanoid form will resemble Vrykul. The theory is based on the @Hitei breakdown and the Eechaykee reference by @hipolnalrt; the White Mist made me think of the Vrykul, and they have seers which links to Drek'thar, and the Storm reference is pretty clear. This is all kind of a stretch, I guess, but that's what came to mind.

If they wanted to make a "More Humanoid Drakonid" new race, then a Vrykul-Dragon hybrid would make a lot more sense than a Night Elf-Dragon hybrid. The latter would feel redundant, especially if we're getting Darkfallen/Death Elves right before.

Also a direct response to the desire for Vrykul which Kul Tirans did not answer enough for.

Blizzard could treat Teriz to a mechadragon tinker expansion like the steamscale mount, that would be a twist for Dragonflight.

I am glad how much the topic has come to life after our tips - great ideas. Today, however, I am giving you perhaps the last tip. You had a clue to your class, today maybe let's think about the race?
I didn't want it to be too easy, and I liked the "theredshirtguy" reaction so we'll pull the topic a little differently. The Warcraft community loves puzzles, hidden mounts, etc.
I'm not very good at puzzles, but I came up with something like this:

Just want to mention that the reason why we have "plenty" of elves running around is because it is the most beloved race by far. Nothing comes close to it, it is also the huge reason why the Horde rains supreme in terms of faction inbalance come TBC with the beautiful Blood Elves.

Tauren are supposed to be a lot taller than they are showcased. Vrykul would be a no issue aswell.

I'd be annoyed as hell though if we get borekul before Ogres.

So if it's actually just a Small Vrykul it would be "Kul Tiran but skinnier/bigger human" which would be... laughable as a major race. There has to be some dragon element.
