Today was a pretty crazy day for me - got a chance to play with Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra in a dungeon via his Discord (yes he runs a Mythic+ Community discord and also very rarely but streams on Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/qwik

He was asking in Discord if anyone had a Vault of the Wardens key, I had a 16 and asked him if he wanted to run and he agreed. He asked me to dump it into a 15 because he just prefers running the easier ones for quick runs, we did 3 runs back to back because we ended up getting another 16 key and a 21 key from another individual in Discord who dumped them down into 15s. He invited me and his friend (He plays fury warrior and had 4 tier pieces)

He is completely cracked out, DPS was bonkers. I also believe his in a Mythic Raid guild as well, most of his Keys are over 20 - Here is his armory profile - https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/ch...us/onyxia/qwik

and no, I did not bug him about anything cause 1st of all it would be rude and 2nd he wouldn't talk about it anyways. Just a really cool day, fun fact - he pulled Cordana on accident while we were killing the Legion Beacons and wiped lol. We were so far ahead on time though that it didn't matter. Mobs were dropping so fast that it was like running a +2. I am also quite overgeared, 265 ilevel with 2 278 tier pieces, was a fun time. Hoping to run with him again soon.

I told him thanks for invite and that I am looking forward Tuesday for the announcement and for it to impress me (in a joking manner) he said "NP and thank you for joining and yeah we will do our best for Tuesday!) What a crazy moment lol.

Can't wait for the speculation to be finally over in less than 30 hours - super stoked!

I know it's kinda offtopic, but I just realized that by 11.0, Warcraft is going to be 30 years old. I can't believe it's been three decades since I picked up this damn game, still remember going ape shit after looking a Warcraft II poster in a store, and particularly recall a situation when I read about Lord of the Clans and had to call a friend to tell him.

I think that, if they're going to do a huge revamp for WoW, as in, fully changed, that's the perfect opportunity. It's also the tenth expansion, a significant number.

Can't wait for leak season 2024. (?)

Always nice to see devs/ceos/etc actually playing their games. Like we know Yoshi-P in FF14 plays black mage (and they apparently run all the new dungeons before release with him and some others to see how they should be tuned. A mix of casual and hard core players to try to find a good balance. Apparently they had to get a new healer for that group because they got too good)

Same, though I feel like this is kind of how they've done things in the past. I can't find it in google, but I feel like 9.2's YouTube videos came out around 10 AM PST and many of their non-Blizzcon announcements have gone along the same time frame.

Yeah it is great when higher ups join up with communities and just have fun with everyone and just simply show how gaming is just fun when everyone plays together.

For a bit they did do the whole “Ion and Lore are high end players” and then SL happened and I am now higher rated than Ion after skipping months.

Everything influences everybody's life. It influences your life enough so that you spend your time on a forum dedicated to it, arguing about whether it can, could or should influence somebody's life. Take a step back and think on that for a bit.

Eh I’m more influenced by a need to try and understand people who think seeing a skinny pirate will cause little girls to become Eugenia Cooney and then their realization hits and they try to swerve away from admitting that maybe it’s not a skinny pirate but severe underlying issues that the kids have

And you take a step back and think for a bit if WoW is even one of the more egregious examples of unhealthy body standards and realize how silly it is to think otherwise. Women covering up their bellies is one thing (just an example, not really trying to start that conversation up again) but if you really have to push that narrative then blood elves would have been the more appropriate outrage target.

Actually I just went and checked that dude's post history and he commented in the Dragonflight "leak" thread "I think this is probably real."

So does he have insider knowledge or not?
