Talent trees returning has me more hyped than a new class tbh. Would be cool if they kept old talents + MoP style talents at the same time, could be two different systems.

Eh I’m more influenced by a need to try and understand people who think seeing a skinny pirate will cause little girls to become Eugenia Cooney and then their realization hits and they try to swerve away from admitting that maybe it’s not a skinny pirate but severe underlying issues that the kids have

The level squish in SL does make talent trees returning a definite possibility. Big reason they were removed before was the ever increasing max level made designing talent trees virtually impossible.

And you take a step back and think for a bit if WoW is even one of the more egregious examples of unhealthy body standards and realize how silly it is to think otherwise. Women covering up their bellies is one thing (just an example, not really trying to start that conversation up again) but if you really have to push that narrative then blood elves would have been the more appropriate outrage target.

Blood Elves don't promote an unhealthy body image.

Actually I just went and checked that dude's post history and he commented in the Dragonflight "leak" thread "I think this is probably real."

So does he have insider knowledge or not?

Could have been speculating before like everyone else or just been told info. If he's press he would have just recently been sent a press kit.

Nhiosis was the poster that said Axaron is not lying. Both accounts are old: 2009 and 2014 so not burners.

They're also just posting brief statements in a thread. Not seeking attention.

Most leaks happen a week before the announcement or less as info is disseminated to 3rd parties for distribution post NDAs/embargoes.

Most leakers do not have connections to devs but work for 3rd parties involved in the industry. Who knows?

Idk man the whole “X ability does Y% more damage. 1/3” talents were annoying because you waded through them to get to the good stuff like titans grip or in legion divine storm going forward.

I really don't buy that. At least Demon Hunters and Warlocks had pretty distinct fantasies. Evoker and Mages would still be casters, just with one tree being invalidated to be expanded into 3?

With work from home being so big now they themselves wouldn't even necessarily be the ones who are supposed to see press kits. Could just be roommates taking a peek even.

Could just use Arcane damage as its damage type. Doesn't necessarily invalidate Arcane Mages. Plenty of specs share damage types. Arcane damage is actually pretty rare currently: just Arcane Mages, 1/2 of Balance Druids, and Arcane Shot for Hunters.

Yeah man I dunno. I'm not sold on this evoker concept at all let alone that name. We'll see what happens on Tuesday.

Eh. Mages are sold on being "masters of the arcane," lowercase A. Referring specifically to "arcane magic" and "arcane incantations." It's not the damage type specifically they're using, but their niche is still being at home with those kinds of arts.

So having something specialize in it with even more variation (i.e. at least 2 versions of damage dealing using it) still feels...off. Even if the written lore would contradict it, it still implies that evokers can "do it better" or are more legitimate.

Evoker would be fine if "evoking" refers to something (like, say, channeling draconic powers) separate from how "evocation" in most concepts (like D&D) refers specifically to damage-dealing magicks.

We'll see in 36 hours, I guess.

It won't be melee. It will be a caster. Possible 1 DPS spec is melee like a Spellsword (Gish). Last 3 classes were melee. Not going to add another melee class for a while.
I think it's going to be 2 ranged DPS + healer though. Never been done before.
