2.) You bounced to No I meant HOTS! Not WC3! So its a dragon class!
3.) You said Demon Hunter was never ever going to happen

So I wont take your word for it for now.

Do note, I really do not think Evoker will happen. Hell, even Bard/Minstrel have more ingame appearances, as does an inquisitor class or a water based caster. I am not saying they will happen, but at least they have a basis ingame
To be honest almost every class we could think of as a grater basis in game than evoke/invoker (still not sure on the name)

Edit - abut the Warhammer thing: what I was trying to say is that in fiction every work takes from the past, in your example zerg are inspired by tyranids, and tyranids are inspired by the xenomorph

Oh know, I mean the entire scene can be found across fiction as is with the same premise. Beat the possessed hero up, they plunge their weapon in the ground, villain tries to assert dominance, figures from their past show up and they shake it off, their color palette shifts to normal. Ichigo pretty much does this entire scene for training several times.

There's nothing to dislike. That's like saying people dislike the idea of a Traqiualvindor race.

Quick, tell me one prominent Evoker character in Warcraft. If you do, I will immediately admit defeat and shill for Tinker 11.0.

I'll make it easier and axe the prominent part, it can be a quest mob from 10 years ago.

Actually, cut even that, just the use of the term in connection to dragons will do.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.

Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.

Most people out of the 30-40 people active in this thread. We have no idea what the reception will be, especially if the presentation is suitably cool.

I still don't think it's likely at all but this might be the inspiration.

Damn the League of EVIL would be such a better villain than Zovaal . . .

The caster Hellfire orcs along the path of glory in Outland are Evokers.

The patrolling mobs in OG Deadmine which were the largest source of Dungeon wipes until TBC were Defias Evokers

See, this, this makes way more sense than EVOKER. It might be a language barrier for Scaleface.

Still a bad name, but a more sensible bad name.

Invoker honestly makes me also think of the mechanics behind the Revenant in GW2 (i.e. channeling spirits and thus abilities of past lore characters) which feels like a thing they'd crib, just with derginz.

Adding fuel to the fire, the Evokers listed as past NPCs are all normal fucking casters doing Mage stuff.

Just make it a two word class name. Dragon Invoker or Draconic Invoker and now it makes perfect sense.

or just keep it as Evoker and it still makes sense because you're evoking the power of the aspects and don't have to be a dragon to do it.

Lots of prospective classes that went absolutely nowhere are in the files, as Mar observed. It means nothing.

The fact that you're so assured based on barriers just tells me you're working backwards - making guesses and assumptions of class identification based on looking in the name restrictions.

Instead of being cute, explain the class.

Still possible, just a trash name.

I mean, that's a very poor use of the word. Evoke as a verb isn't something particularly active, it pretty much means "bring to mind".

You don't have to believe anything I've said in this thread. However, Demon Hunters were also from WC3, just like Tinkers. In addition, Blizzard didn't begin to actively utilize HotS abilities in WoW until Legion, so up to that point, HotS was not considered a legitimate source of canon material for WoW. The reason I've moved HotS into a canon source for classes is because they used HotS for the Demon Hunter class in Legion, and they've used HotS abilities in multiple classes and WoW NPCs since that time.

So yes, the calculus has changed in the last seven years.

Most folks played this game for almost two decades, cant blame them for being angry at Blizzard for ruining something that was amazing before and is super easy to fix.

Also, watch Scaleface just troll the entire forum because he had a lucky guess back in Legion.

    I just figured something out...

    EVOKER
    TINKER

EVO + TIN + KER = ET INVOKER

The new race is an extraterrestrial invoker, a.k.a Ethereals. Checkmate.

So since there's people who think a world revamp or partial revamp would come in Dragonflight... What dragony related things could be happening in Lordaeron, Quel'thalas, Elwynn, Ashenvale, Barrens, etc?

If the theme is healing the world, any zone could feature some of that.

Most folks get bored, stop playing, and get on with their lives, not obsess over trying to "fix" a video game they don't like anymore in some weird, desperate bid to recapture a feeling they had when playing that game years ago.

Also, watch Scaleface just troll the entire forum because he had a lucky guess back in Legion.
If nothing else, I can respect his commitment to the bit. Most people drop a """leak""" on a burner account, post a few times for 30 minutes and maybe show up once more, he's all in.
