Perhaps, though the curse of the Worgen has it as a permanent form that the Gilneans had to fight off & learn how to control rather than something that just happened on occasion & went away. In that sense, I feel like a cooldown Metamorphosis system wouldn't really fit lore-wise, even if it could extend gameplay in a manner similar to the FFXIV Reaper's Avatar. Plus, while a cooldown Worgen could be cool for Warriors & Rogues, it would still feel weird for casters. Which means it would still seemingly be limited to only a handful of classes whereas something like the Void (which you also mention) could really enhance pretty much anyone.

I honestly feel if they went a bit more subtle with the animations & perhaps gave them a voice that didn't sound like it came from a long time chain smoker, they might solve a lot of the issues current Worgen have.

Yeah you are right. But you know with less subtlety, it is less werewolf fantasy. What I am suggesting for Worgen is closer to the original pack form. And yes this endgame power boosts should be managed carefully to make sure none is a definitive best. Sure there would be a meta, but that won't matter much outside of Mythic stuff.

I somehow doubt it. The current "tune in" announcement is entirely devoid of any hints whatsoever, so I imagine Blizzard might be banking on a mystery being more tantalising the less you know.

If Blizzard were looking to give hints i imagine they would have done so already.

Last time the Bolvar poster leaked a few hours before the announcement and then shortly after we got the Bastion leak with the Shadowlands logo IIRC. I'm hoping for something similar this time around as well, but we'll see what happens.

No that is exactly what I want. Either have a choice that you need to stick to and which is importnat, or don't have a meaningful chocie at all.

Ok, so we're in agreement. To have choice be meaningful it has to be enduring, but in a game where how it functions varies wildly between how certain abilities perform or even classes play strategically, it means the choice can't function unilaterally as satisfying and player power can't really dictate it in a game that doesn't support that kind of independence.

Permanent meaningful choice can't involve player power in this 18 year old game never designed for that pillar. People hold up class as an example but we chose that from the onset. Modifying that choice via a Covenant/Flight/whatever fundamentally changes it and can harm pre-investment into that class.

Permanent meaningful choice CAN work...if they wrote a story and built a world that honestly made us care enough to have that support the central question. But it's Blizzard, so lol. People wouldn't have had fucking debates over covenant value if they shipped with no player power, they'd just quietly pick the most aesthetically pleasing one which borders on a non-choice.
