So from the lates scaleface post with the image and considering all known leaks so far...

What if Dragonflight is "Warlords of Draenor 2"

We go back in time. But this time to Northern Azeroth.

Thats why we have a Lordaeron/Quel'Thalas zone leak. We see these zones as they were before WC3.
Thats why we have a orc holding Alextraza. It is during the time she was captured.
Thats why we have dragon isles, which are "missing" right now. Because something happend during that time which caused them to be missing in our time.
Thats why we have Dalaran again as a hub. It is the Dalaran still on the ground.
Thats why Silvermoon is a hostile Suramar style city. As it had a rather poor attitude towards the alliance after WC2.

As much as I love timetravel and stuff, I'm not sure I want this.

Except the new Lordaeron datamined isn't pre-scourge, it's post-battle-of-lordaeron.

The position of his hand sure seems suspect and the ominous framing (relative to the blocking, obviously the actual environment is very clear) is pretty classic for inferring dominance in cinematic language.

The leaked building clearly resembles the walls and battlements encircling Silvermoon:




Both buildings are rectangular in shape, both buildings are elegantly built with marble, both buildings have golden decorations protruding from the wall (the shape of the decorations is different but it can be justified with the usual discrepancy between cinematic and in-game model).

But what does this mean, exactly?

Well, it is actually very simple. I suspect that the Ren'dorei will finally put their plan in motion, as long orchestrated by Alleria Windrunner and Magister Umbric, their plan to bring Quel'Thalas back into the Alliance. Driven to desperation by the power of the Ren'dorei and the Alliance, the Horde will resort once more to enthralling Alexstrasza and forcing her to create Red dragons for war purpose, for the purpose of halting the Alliance invasion. This is also why there is a figure clearly resembling an orc in front of Alexstrasza who could be chained atop the walls of Silvermoon. Let us also not forget that much of Quel'Thalas' forests burned and were incinerated by the Red dragons during the Second War, so we can't expect the Blood elves to have much care for what happens to dragons.

The aid of Alexstrasza and her enslaved dragons will give the weak Horde a fighting chance against the might of the Ren'dorei (led by Alleria) backed by the strength of the Alliance (led by Turalyon).

This will not be a surprise for most of us, who have been expecting a Quel'Thalas revamp in 10.0.

I expect to be proven right about all of my predictions tomorrow.

I've heard from my sources that actually it's subterranean invasion by the Underground Alliance of Drogbar, Troggs and Kobolds, lead by Navarrogg the greatest tactical genius in the history of WoW.

Interesting, and credible, but building the whole expansion around it...?

I had a second thought inspired by @Deventh, who suggested it is in Dragonblight; what if the Orc is standing on the edge of the broken Path of the Titans, looking southward to the sea...or...the Dragon Isles. As to whether the Orc is holding Alex or not, it might be a perspective thing; he may be holding something and the placement looks like a chain, due to the perspective. Just spitballing really.

That would depend on whether they change the UI, or the lua backend. The UI itself is set up as an addon, after all.
