I think one of the best outcomes of the new race/class is that it breaks down barriers that we players conceived as immutable. Nothing based on race or class is off the table. I just hope that when it comes to customization and new toys, we don't have to continue to wait years to get them. Though, I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

I think it has something to do with timing. If it has something big like a new AR they may be waiting to reveal it.

Idk my standards are higher than just "good enough." Demon Hunters worked good as "race"/class combo because their demon/elf forms were completely unique (correct me if wrong) and something we had not seen before. It felt super high quality and well done even if the elf forms were just a modified model.

But this stuff just rubs me the wrong way, it is still preliminary and I know that but just at its core.

I think the first step needs to be giving the race their own rigging, it is quite inexcusable to give a new race (note: not allied race) a reused skeleton, it just lends to it looking cheap and off-putting. Second step needs to be stuff like beards/jewlerly/tattoos etc etc, and the drake form NEEDS to be able to equip armor.

I have faith in the Dev team to make changes because they've been really stellar with feedback lately so I'm sure the final product will be something I can get behind, but man the first impression is awful.

All fair enough. I don't disagree with some of your criticisms at all—I like the invisible dimorphism, but I do find the lack of customization awkward. On the other hand, this may open up opportunities like Nerubians down the line, too, which is something I'm all for. The removal of the limitations of armor is kind of nice and could give us things like Naga, Nerubians, etc., which I'm sure everybody would like.

It is very awkward they made them look like discount Blood Elves, for sure. I'd probably have made them something else, perhaps more elaborate and interesting. I'd have preferred if they just gave us actual Dragons.

I’m beginning to wonder if something is going on at Blizz. Obv the buyout is coming but between the unionization, walkouts, protests, and press this looks far less finished and polished than I would expect for an expac they put their current one on the back burner for. The more I look at it the less impressed I am.

They even gave us woman tuskarr. Just go that extra step and make them playable.

Honestly the more I look at the talent system, the more I am baffled.

You have to invest talent points to get basic things like Rake or Rejuvenation back. LOL.

I'm hoping this means Nerubians or Naga could be a thing. All the conventions have gone out the window. I'm far more excited about the potential of the new barrier-breaking than this race in particular.

Anyone else notice all the mobs that we were missing for a world revamp? Gnolls and Centaurs especially.

That is exactly what I noticed the moment I heard the word centaur. I was like "okay and where are my gnolls?! 11.0 revamp likelihood reaching maximum levels!"

Another leaker said it cannibalized arcane mages. Nothing was mentioned that it was a combo of the flights. In addition, Drakthyr weren’t being touted as being locked with the Evoker, so people assumed it was going to be a spellcaster, not a dragon.

Also a lot of this concept comes from Alexstraza HotS. So yeah, Bards still off the table.

Why turn into a humanoid at all then? The entire point of a dragon visage is personal choice.
