Honestly the more I look at the talent system, the more I am baffled.

You have to invest talent points to get basic things like Rake or Rejuvenation back. LOL.

That does sound a tad bit like they're just pruning abilities and moving them to talents. It seems illusory in nature, which is one of my thoughts on a lot of this. There seems to be a lot of superficial change, but aside from the race, nothing really that groundbreaking.

Another leaker said it cannibalized arcane mages. Nothing was mentioned that it was a combo of the flights. In addition, Drakthyr weren’t being touted as being locked with the Evoker, so people assumed it was going to be a spellcaster, not a dragon.

Also a lot of this concept comes from Alexstraza HotS. So yeah, Bards still off the table.

The new race/class and some of the other features seem interesting, but God! Those zones, or at least what they showed, seemed lackluster, just the same old reused Elf/Troll assets we've seen in a dozen zones before. In fact that one zone, they were showing I thought was Azsuna, before they said it was entirely new.

I agree, I'm super hyped for the class, but it feels like that art design is stagnating a bit to me. The new capital just feels strongly suramarish to me, and each zone shown was an instant "This feels like X place!". It's not a deal breaker, and I'm happy these zones are not kul tiras gray, but I wasn't wowed from what we saw.

I think it is less about getting them "back" and more about getting them at all. Like you have oodles of points to pick what you want instead if right now where you only get to choose 1/3 things and if you want two things off that tier well shit outta luck buddy

See, they look great...in combat. Standing still I feel like I'm looking at some degenerate in a scalie suit at a con.

And no, not in an "anthro bad, updoots to the left" way. Proportions wise they seem too "normal adult human in a suit" compared to a Worgen or Vulpera. They should be bulkier.

That's what I've always thought. I still do feel offput about the weird faces, too. I don't like how they look so cartoonish and generally harmless. Their faces are too soft and their movements are too humanlike. It definitely looks like it was designed by an anthro.

Since they will be making gear so limited to drakthyr, why they couldn't add the bulkier version that is using the same default outfit aswell.

I’m beginning to wonder if something is going on at Blizz. Obv the buyout is coming but between the unionization, walkouts, protests, and press this looks far less finished and polished than I would expect for an expac they put their current one on the back burner for. The more I look at it the less impressed I am.

You're essentially getting abilities pruned, I am calling it now.

You went from how many talent rows we have right now, 8? 7? To the illusion of choice.

Look at the Druid points. On the left side, you have to make choices to either pick up Starsurge or Maim. Uh, WHAT? Why isnt the latter baseline for all druids again?

In case others missed it. The Evoker will have a toggle for charging spells for accessibility reason. Though it might just be the better method to play the class given the type of game WoW is.

That seems to be their intention is that if you want to hybrid you're going to be able to, but at the cost of some of your "core kit."

Interesting in theory, but you'll likely rarely see it in practice.

I’m pretty sure I said multiple times over the last few weeks that the most likely next class would be a dragon class based on HotS. We pretty much got that.

I'm hoping this means Nerubians or Naga could be a thing. All the conventions have gone out the window. I'm far more excited about the potential of the new barrier-breaking than this race in particular.

You and I are in the same boat. I'm not sold on the dragonkin, but what they could mean is a lot more. Hell, let us play Nerubians with Crypt Lord wings and their version of "Running Wild" and I would preorder the next Northrend expansion.
