All the expansions that are considered great don't have anything that would be considered ambitious.

That talent revamp sure is meaty and needs a lot of testing. And most importantly NEEDS for them to listen to feedback.

Yes I agree, but not all classes are necessarily done by the same team. And they need to do that almost every expac with borrowed power. They aren't revamping all the specs just putting in a rank system to talent trees. It definitely doesn't require a 8 month test phase for just that IMO.

Also, I hope the zones are HUGE like how the devs were framing them

Human buildings still missing. Along with them touching on random mobs not hit in the BfA model update. There's still hope for 11.0

Same feeling here and sad part is that the vet in us is pretty much always right.
Right now I am hoping, we DO get some more playable races, but the vet in me says dude stfu this is it.

Yea I mean I'll 100% play it for sure simply because expansion launch is the best shit ever. But based on what we've seen so far (which is, objectively, what we can judge it on) it doesn't look like it'll have an endgame loop that will keep people around.

If there is little to no up-keep I'll be able to play a shitload of alts which is great, but that's only fun if there are things to do. I hope we get some more info on dungeons and endgame soon.

The lack of them being able to show any of this has me concerned this will be late into 2023 and not early 2023 as I had originally predicted.

Looking through my wish list and checking off what I wanted, versus what we got...

Realizing the expansion is extremely light on content, so far.

- New race and class which are heavily locked down
- 4 zones + starting area for the new race/class
- Dragon riding
- Talent overhaul
- UI overhaul
- Profession revamp

Has there been an expansion with less/equal features on announcement? Maybe MoP?

New race and class, not locked down
Scenarios,
Challenge Mode dungeons,
Pet battles,
new talent systems and abilities as you level up,
6 leveling zones to start, and a max level zones + starting area for new race
6 new dungeon + 3 remade dungeons


I think MoP may also have had new race/class combos? I don't recall

It’s funny that you think this way when it actually offers a new class/race. So is the new class/race so lacking and basic? Or what’s the issue? I cannot comprehend it yet. Something‘s just missing for me.

Class is nice, but it's not a feature that offers a different mode of gameplay.
It's something i play as to do the things that are available.

The class isn't something i do, like Torghast, Warfronts/Isles, Mage tower, Garrison etc.
And that's what the expansion is lacking.

After processing this a bit more, i gotta say that the lack of a third spec really sucks. However, I suppose Blizzard was trying to make a anti-DH hero class that did the opposite of what they do.

That said, I like the fact that it’s RDPS/Heal and wears mail.

Yeah 1 more spec would have been cool but oh well. As long as the 2 new specs are fun I'll be content.

The lack of any talk about endgame is super worrying because it's not like Shadowlands had a good endgame that you can just trim around the edges on and shove back out. The Vault was a nightmare, the Conduits were a nightmare, the Legendaries ended up being something of a nightmare (especially once you could double them up), the sockets in 9.1 were a nightmare, sounds like gearing in 9.2 was a nightmare.

Hopefully it was just time constraints and they are going to be reworking endgame, because if they just shove SL's endgame back out at us then that's going to drag Dragonflight to unplayable for me.

Honestly endgame is largely about balancing gear progression vs patch cycle. It's not about systems.

Yeah it just lacks a signature feature. THere is nothing like the Garrison or the Artifacts and class halls.

But to be honest WoD is where the "Signature feature you ditch after expac" started. And they mentioned at the start they no longer want you to lose power when the next expac comes out. Still weird that they didn't do or talk about a covenant like system but for just cosmetics.

Hey, do not discard Dragon people getting other classes in the future. Once they have contact with the rest of the world, they can learn new stuff.

We are actually out of major Vanilla models that need updating outside of the AQ40 bug race. Dragons, Centaurs and Gnolls were big ones?

The only ones i can think of now are Giraffes? Furbolg?

With Gnolls and Centaurs now getting an update, what vanilla enemy NPC races are left to update?

Not Vanilla but Wolvar and their ugly fish rivals. It’s funny on the path to Loremaster (finished yesterday) it was BC and WotLK zones with the ugliest mobs by and large, in large part because Cata also revamped many vanilla mobs.
