Honestly it never really made that much sense why they couldnt be every class a regular Belf could be. It's not like they are some obscure sect of Belves who live on a secluded island. They were literally regular Belves from Silvermoon less than a week before we met them.

As of Legion there was lore that void-embedded creatures could not wield Light Magic without being hurt. See: Alleria and Turalyon. Similar reasoning to the old lore as to why Forsaken liked being Spriests/couldn't be paladins.

Endgame for Forsaken Paladins is "they power through the pain" but it may be more difficult than that for Velfs as AFAIK it was implied that they would basically explode. And even if you are a Helf you are still using some degree of void magic, though they could establish that "Void Elf Paladins work with Alleria but won't give up their faith, so they are only the Helfs".

You don't need a lore explanation for the player character to become any race/class combination. The player is the exception. Their choice doesn't need to be reflected or accommodated anywhere else in the lore. You can preserve a race's culture whilst giving the player more freedom.

Maybe players wanna be more immersed? What's wrong with having that?

That is the sunwell specifically. There is no good reason given why that couldnt be corrupted.
Velves being paladins is more on why there are seemingly no paladins present in that groups that wanted to help shore up Silvermoons defenses against Void attacks. I guess you could make the argument that they are all loyal Blood Knights, but still.

I assume they made the choice because there is no current way for them to make a void themed paladin, otherwise I am sure they would have done so already.

The simpler answer is that Shaman, Druids & Paladins require extra racial assets & they didn't bother. At this point all we can hope for is like with those eyeglasses, a WoW rendering artists creates void elf chargers in their free time.

The light still causes issues for Forsaken priests even when it isnt applied directly to them. The presence of it causes their soul to be strengthened, which has the side-effect of making them more aware of how decrepit their body really is.

Elves don't need the Sunwell to be paladins tho. Arator never visited the Sunwell. The Silver Hand trains Humans and elves.

Though there is that bit of dialog if you visit the Stormwind Chapel as a Void Elf they kindly ask you to leave. Its seems like for now they're just unconfortable with Void Elves.

Don’t Alleria and turyalion make little explosions when they touch each other because ones void and the others light?

If I’m not mistaken that would be a pretty good reason to not have them be pallys.

While they may be working toward the whole all races/all classes thing, I still suspect maybe not all classes will be available in the long run. Specifically those that require some additional things, like paladins (racial-class mount), shaman (totems), and druids (racial forms).

But who knows.

It's obvious why Void elf Paladins are not a thing yet.

No, it has nothing to do with "lore"; because Blizzard has no problem retconning things, and furthermore we already have example of Void Paladins serving the Twilight's Hammer.

It simply has to do with the fact that each Paladin has a unique racial mount that would have to be created for every new race that gets Paladin, meanwhile Rogue, Mage, and Priest have nothing unique that has to be designed for every new race.

Since modern Blizzard cuts costs everywhere they can, they're not thrilled to have to make special paladin mounts for Night elves, Worgen, Trolls, Void elves, Nightborne, etc.

There absolutely is a way to make the Story work. People here just lack imagination.

A Light Naaru was drained to empower Sin'dorei warriors and turn them into Holy paladins. There's no reason why a Void Naaru cannot be drained to achieve a similar result with Ren'dorei warriors, turning them into paladins of Darkness instead.

"Paladin" as a term also never had a Religious connotation, the term was coined to refer to Charlemagne's court. So something like "Shadow Paladin" is absolutely not an oxymoron or some kind of inconsistency and, indeed, we have Twilight Paladins in the game:

Last I checked, "Divine Storm", "Retribution Aura", and "Hammer of Wrath" are Light spells used by Light Paladins. But, since we are talking about something the Void elves would gain, I'm sure you'll spin it around and say that it doesn't count for reasons (because you hate Void elves).

You don't really need lore though because it is as simple as "X race got interested and was trained". Even for Paladins and Warlocks. Paladins only require the Order to open their doors to teaching those races. A paladin can be cut off from using the order's magic but not from using the light. So there already is a lore basis for it being Order specific.

Warlocks can simply be outcasts learning to use warlock stuff after years of it being present in the factions. Even for someone like Dreanei it can simply be an outcast. There doesn't need to be any big lore reason just because. Would it be nice? Sure but look at gnome priests. Their lore was essentially after years of seeing it done they decided to learn it and experiment with light based technology to retake/heal their capital.

I doubt we will get it but hopefully them holding on Warlocks means we might see some uniqueness added to those combos.
