That's not really "incentive to level new characters," not to mention those two things are borderline experimental so they don't know if that will actually resonate with people.

also don't list adding vendor weapons that were already in the game as a "feature"

The new game actually looks better and more fun than I expected it to.

Mobile games are not my style, but I'll try it.

It's not a whole lot, but it's hardly nothing, especially when you consider that the Raids+ and "persistent" M+ content from older expansions is an entirelyy new concept.
We are still missing the season 4 mount for M+ (which is hopefully the beautiful blue death elemental that they originally announced for season 2). And last build had some hints for darkfallen/dark rangers so there's that.

I don't usually play Mobile games, but friends got me into playing Clash Royale for a bit and it is really really fun, and actually allows for a lot of custom deck designs.

It was very MTC heavy though, but then again, it was a free mobile game.

It would be super cool if they would add Chromie Time 1-60 with 9.2.5, but I doubt it. Guess we will get that with the pre-patch alongside Dracthyr.

I'd love it if it became a tradition to give us something new to play with at the end of each expansion. As someone said above, 4 allied races at end of Legion, and then allied race death knights at end of BfA.

As long as they remove the heritage armor restrictions. The only thing I want to use my level boosts on are the new allied races but I hate missing out on the transmog. Honestly though I'd prefer something more like Season 4 but "crazy". Add a bunch of weird or fun affixes and don't care about balance that much so we can all be overpowered or what not for a few months.

Leveling four new characters definitely helped to soften the blow of the content drought. It's a shame that I wasn't preparing those characters for any worthwhile content...

Yeah this is missing from SL. I felt overpowered for much of Legion but definitely felt so by the end on every alt with the overcharged artifact. Same with BfA, Corruptions were just made to break the system. With SL nothing is really broken. Imagine if we got something crazy like triple soulbinds (all three soulbinds active at once!)

That's very true actually. I guess maybe the extra ilvl from Season 4 will add some extra player power, but who knows how impactful it will actually be in practice when the raids presumably need more damage to compensate.

lol I think that would defeat the purpose of why they implemented those restrictions. Can't see them doing that.

I haven't heard about that yet, but it doesn't sound too interesting. I mean they're shifting character progression back to the leveling phase, which is good, but why isn't there something proper for max level? Why is it one or the other? I don't understand it from their design perspective. It's always either A or B, never a mix of both, although the mix would be better.

Not to mention that with the exception of the first 4 heritage armors the sets are not designed to be used on anyone but the intended race anyways. The Dwarf one for instance just flat out doesnt have the 3D elements tracked to the correct anchor points, or for that matter sized appropriately to the model.
Really it would just give you the shoulders as something to actually use that wouldnt look horrible.

Removal of the armor type restrictions would be something though. Would have to be a darn dedicated transmog collector to have exhausted all relevant armor grinds on all 4 armor types.

Right. The added them to force people to level them up manually. It really is silly though to keep that restriction in place. A few months? Sure but at some point it should be removed.

I think you are misunderstanding what restriction I was talking about. It was the manual level restriction on earning the heritage armor. If you use a character boost you won't get the armor. If you manually level you do. I forgot about that restriction when Void Elves first came out and boosted up a rogue to play and the only way I get the armor is if I level up another void elf.

At that point the Heritage armor is just a shop mog. And do you remember how mad the Asmongold crowd got about that? Just level the damn elf, mary.

So? The existing races that have a quest chain can boost and get their heritage armor.

It was rather telling that they didn't use the Hearthstone Girl (Ava) in it, but instead one of the random background characters. They didn't want to hook their Hearthstone girl to the new mobile game just yet...

Core races need exalted with their faction, which isnt necessarily trivial, especially not for a new player.

Right. But it can still be done with a boosted character so the fear of it being just a cash shop transmog is already realized and no body cares. It would be easy for Blizzard to implement a reputation bar to gain that gets passively filled on the way to 60 but not when boosted for example.
