Isn't the only thing possibly pointing to it being a christmas mount is the model being the sleigh?

Its a test mount, it could be a placeholder. The only reasons people thought it was for Christmas was the sleigh and that fake leak claiming a reindeer mount.

Did we ever get a model for the new slime saber mount?

Good point, I forgot that's coming in this patch because of the fated raids. I'm guessing it's encrypted.

I believe its texture was datamined but that was it.

Yes, it's first thing I checked on PTR.

Maybe it's used for something else, when summoning the deluxe edition's mount/HS toy maybe ?
Well, there's no need to keep it hidden and it's already done, might as well include it. All Dracthyr data will have to be in the base client anyway. Doesn't mean it will get used before 10.0.

Today, I will remind them of post #57995. No one believed, yet here we are.

Good catch, but I suggest wait a bit for victory lap, we still are not 100% sure if it's 31st May or 7th June.

9.2.5 brings almost nothing "major", it can be released in one week imo

It's bigger than 9.1.5, which had 2 weeks notice. We will see, both dates are possible.

Why do people think preorders will open together with the official release date announcement? Have Blizzard said something?

    Why would they not?

Because everyone is desperately wanting news about Dragonflight after a rather uneventful May, lol.

As cool as it would be, I would be surprised if we got Dracthyr in 9.2.5 just because they haven’t been tested yet by the public.

They said there would be available during prepatch

Best way to capitalize on excitement.

That said, don't we get the release date announcement a while in to testing? As I recall with Shadowlands the preorder had a window instead.

We don't even know Evoker skills or mechanics yet so there's like no way we'll get them in 9.2.5 lol.

It might seem like nothing, but it's not really. DI comes out on the 2nd of June, they’re adding battlenet icons into WoW so you can see when a friend is playing Diablo Immortal, like they have for Sc2, OW, HS, etc. Presumably they’d want to add this to the game before DI releases to help boost exposure for it. Just a little bone.

Probably just Dragonflight files leaking into 9.2.5 due to parallel development.

Just like the Kul Tiras quest sets in 7.3, except this time we know what it is.
