I looked it up. Apparently they were 100 people strong, so WoW is getting an influx of at least 50 devs. They have been working on WoW since May 2022.

Im wondering if we will see some kind of Thorgast 2.0.
I hate to admit it, but I really enjoyed Thorgast. Both the normal wings and the bonus ones.

I just couldnt stand the aesthetic, as I thought it was suposed to be some kind of «personal hell» with diffrent kind of environments and not just «Maw», «tower», fire-tower» and «ice-tower».

With some cool rewards, mogs and drops; heck; even gold, I would surely do that sort of content alot more

I will say this:

1). They said that they were far along in the development process
2). They wanted to do a lot of internal testing (having these 100 people to just test internally could be a huge advantage. Not saying this is what they were hired to do; however, perhaps at-least some were)
3). IF: Dragonflight has fewer systems AND they want to be more like 9.2.5 and keep the story stuff more hidden, they could do internal testing ONLY for the story/leveling and focus on endgame systems, talents, etc. through Alpha/Beta testers to make the timeline.

100%. I was mostly trying to foreshadow rather than assume that's what is happening. Even without these 100 people, I stand by everything else I said. At the end of the day, we can't be upset/worried until Alpha launches and we see, first-hand, what it looks like.

Blizzard has said they have been working on Dragonflight prior to the acquisition so they already are having an effect.

Maybe in a later patch but not for launch. It was already confirmed by Ion.

I want them to implement a dragon riding pvp mode where you are racing other players.

It was more of a consequence of them thinking the preparing them for WoD wouldn't be so well long and I guess it was and well development of WoD was not stable(Apparently despite it not looking that way when it was relevant). I'm not gonna overthink the 100 extra people, nor am I gonna think DF is WoD or doomed or whatever. People need to chill(Not pointing fingers).

As excited as I am for Dragon-riding, I am also very nervous. If the entire leveling, travel on the Dragon Isles, access to different content, etc. is tied to Dragon-riding and it isn't fun/easy to use, that's a YIKES.

think of Dragonriding as the new Pathfinder. You will have to use it for 1 patch and will be a bit wonky, and in the 2nd patch unlock regular flying for all mounts.

IDK I think this would be disastrous. The Large scale of the zones and the verticality have to have meaning and purpose behind it and it can't just fall flat and then resort to unlocking regular flying.

(It doesn't really matter, but it would probably make the large scale nature of the zones more miserable)

Oh I am not saying DF is doomed either. Just that celebrating that the team is getting larger at this stage is a bit silly.

My understanding is that Dragonriding will be much faster than normal flight but you actually have to pay attention.
