I think they were Isles even before the Sundering so they pretty much have to be outside the area covered by ancient Kalimdor. So if they are in the north, they need to east or west of Northrend. I'd personally prefer them west to tie with modern Kalimdor stories. Eastern Kingdoms already have enough.

In an interview Blizzard stated it is Northeast of known continents. So pre-sundering it would still have to generally be to the Northeast but could theoretically have been anywhere from the North to East and moved during the Sundering.

Did anything else really move from the Sundering? Not that it matters; everything very well SHOULD have moved from it (really the geography of WoW makes no lick of sense). Oh well, yet another continent in the eastern side of the map.

I do hope we get Ion's Soon added to the growing list of Blizzard trademarked adverbs. It's not like any version of Soon I have used.

I always thought everything basically moved outwards and the land crumbled away or shifted as it moved. The in-game map scale is clearly wrong but even the Chronicles/lore maps seem to show things as more spread out. The interesting thing about Dragon Isles is that they are not part of "Ordered" Azeroth so Blizzard has opened the doors for a wild landmass on the other side of the planet with out much to retcon. If it requires one at all.

It's weird in that they make an effort to create continuity between past and modern geography even though a catastrophy like the Sundering would probably have completely shifted geography and especially hydrography (like, every lake has pretty much the same borders now it had ten thousand years and several catastrophic geological events ago). Well technically the Sundering would have wiped all life on the face of the planet but hey, FANTASY.

And other side of Azeroth requires no retcon. Chronicle takes the time to mention Kalimdor being one continent, not THE continent. When they added the globe in Legion they also made a point to give us the craziest cloud cover and to show that the ocean between the continents on the other side of the Maelstrom is pretty damn massive.

My fan concept on Dragon Isles would have placed them on the opposite side of the Maelstrom, floating around Uldorus, which would be the titan facility leading all the way down to the World Soul.

I hadn't noticed that tbh. Big if true. Also can we appreciate how good those screenshots look? Imo Modern WoW looks as good or better than newer MMOS in a different way. WoW might have bad graphics, but it has a world class art style.

Atleast today I can dig my teeth into Mythic Jailer again. Getting the Cutting Edge before Alpha start wouldn't be that bad anyways.

I still think it's this week, they need some puffer between the first build and season 4 start.

I just have to ask but why is today a good day? Are there days that are bad and this is good by comparison? Did we consult Ion's horoscope? Is Mercury in a good angle with Warcraft's Sun at its release? Are weather patterns in California changing the feng shui of the office building today in some way?

It's a Wednesday, there is no holiday, Blizzard is working, and an Alpha is being prepared to release soon.

Everyone stock up on their hopium/copium last night for another day today? I made sure it was kept in the freezer for preservation.

So it's as good as every other day besides Saturday and Sunday...

This "today is the day" or "I have a good feeling" is a bit silly if we're honest. This thread is filled with that stuff since two months now. Months. To be precise, since the announcement of Dragonflight because some were dead set on Alpha releasing just days after the announcement because [reasons].
