Yeah, highly doubt Alpha starting on a Friday. A client however could be in the cards still if they need the client as soon as Monday/Tuesday.

The thing is, it's an alpha. It doesn't have to actually work. Unless it can melt people's graphic cards releasing it completely broken is not an issue.

I thought we're posting this mantra at least once a day and this time it was me who did it first.

Idk it just seemed like "hey guys we know you like unique pets. We like unique pets too. Back in the day we wanted pets to permanently die. Players found a better way. This talent reduces pet damage. We will address issues in Dragonflight."

If we see a dragon flying post tomorrow then alpha is coming before Wednesday

I've understood it the same way you did.

It unfortunately almost felt like reading the ramblings of a drunk who was tasked to work on pet and has finished his research and was given a go to share it with the community.

Feedback was given many times about what pet classes want. Pet current system for hunter is fine, we want stable or even customisation on other pet classes. Unholy is an undead specialist but is the only spec with which you cannot use control undead... same goes for demonology.

Issues are known and the writer is completely lost, that's how it felt to me. I'm hoping someone else on their team will step up to correct this mishap in communication.

No.. that's now how any of this works. Alpha right now is partially marketing. It works or it doesn't. And releasing a non working client on friday is just stupid as anyone who actually worked for more than 1 day in IT will tell you.

Battle for Azeroth datamining started on a Thursday.
Shadowlands datamining started on a Thursday.

BUT!

Legion datamining started on a Friday.

Following the logic of copium, I am now 100% certain that it will begin tonight.

Apparently Warlords of Draenor datamining started on a Saturday? April 5th 2014. Unless it was like really late at night where I live and it was still Friday the 4th in the US.

Yup, looking back it started around 9pm on the 4th, US west coast time. So that's another Friday!

The only thing I could see happening today is another talent tree.

We had the professions preview, I think we're done this week.

While technically true for the rest-of-the-world definition of alpha testing, that's hardly how Blizzard has preferred to treat their initial alpha pushes for new expansions in the past. It -can- happen today, sure, it's just generally not done to do a major launch on a Friday. Hell, we've had a beta build hit in the weekend in the past, anything is possible (you'll never see me talk in absolutes for that reason), but it's not a great feeling for employees to push/launch something at the end of a week and then have it be broken the entire weekend (speaking from experience, both personal and from observing Blizz).

I'd say servers going up and a client release (but no accounts flagging) is still very much possible today, although I kinda doubt they'd give us an entire weekend to datamine it (and for those with sandboxes, explore it) and then have an NDA'd event next week, kinda defeats the entire purpose.

Either way, I'll be ready (but not waiting) for something to happen today, just like every night since Tuesday.
