AFAIK, they said that the starter experience starts with "waking up and figuring what happened", meaning you were likely cryogenically frozen through titan tech or time (!!) magic.

I don't think we will see the early isles, but a hologram or projection of Neltharion I think will take a big part. Someone has to explain the origin to them.

I didn't realize until just now that the Infinite could be behind why they were "frozen"... especially if this bookends with the heroes being frozen at the end of the expansion (timwskip for real this time)

What makes you think they start out as whelplings? There is a lot of assumptions going on that they are Dragons rather than Dragonkin. They are the result of dragon essence combined with mortal essence. Also I believe Blizzard stated they were in stasis so we wouldn't see them in a "child" form. Though I can't find the interview to confirm or put my memory into context.

If they are in stasis, that would likely imply that they were hatched then & perhaps fought in a war (at least in the Forbidden Reach) before getting put into stasis. If that's the case, we almost certainly wouldn't see them in child form.

As for why I'd think whelplings, it's in part due to how Blizz spoke of the fantasy of being a dragon as opposed to being dragon-like. Also since they were a Deathwing experiment, my presumption is that he'd start with dragon material & add the mortal essence in afterwards as opposed to the opposite direction.

Any Drac'thyr could explain the origin because they existed prior to going into stasis. What we know is that they went dormant after fighting in a big battle so obviously they were around long enough to learn things.

We already have Drakonids which are mortals turned into dragons. They don't start as whelplings so it seems silly to think that Drac'thyr also would start as whelplings when they aren't Dragons. They are Dragonkin. It is also clear the fantasy is Dragon-like since they look like Dragons in Warcraft but they look like Dragonkin. Dragonkin are Dragon-like things in the Warcraft universe.

They fall under the appearance of a dragon according to Blizzard. They've stated this both in interviews and in art like the image above. So they're essentially in the same vein as Chromatic dragons; Artificial dragons created by the black dragon flight to harness the power of all the flights.

Especially since they’re seeming like they’re a form more advanced caster-focused Drakonid.

Mortals infused with the essences of dragons. From what it sounds.
I am interested in seeing how long the Dracthyr were in existence before their stasis and how much ‘training’ they’ve actually had.
If they are indeed chosen mortals who were infused with the essences of dragons, they probably wouldn’t need as much combat training. Just a bit of getting used to their new body.

I think it would be interesting if they had some form of an inverse DH starting.
Start out waking up from stasis, but through the questing we play through the memories from before their stasis.
