Once again, you compare this to art from Vanilla WoW, you will see that literally the only noticeable artistic change is the snout is longer.

That's a very good idea—I maintain it's mainly in the face shape and scale of the teeth, though. These simply look too cartoonish and have terrible shape language

The old ones also had terrible "shape language". I really think people are being too critical of the new stuff compared to what we have and not applying the criticisms equally to the old one. They were essentially a Tauren with its face parts scaled to give the comically large mouth and "pug-like" squished face.

I like how the face is androgynous.

I honestly think it looks quite feminine—I think it just looks sharper and rougher. I think I'd actually vastly prefer if female Night Elves looked like this—would probably solve the whole "defanging" debate then and there. The huge degree of space between the features looks a little awkward, but I think some of it's just to make it more deer-like. Generally, I think it looks very good and very suitable for Night Elves.

Gnolls are not hyenas.

Gnolls are gnolls.

Well, just like centaurs are centaurs, yet the horse parts still look like horse.

Ye well. Gnolls kinda got shafted in WoW universe with them being a low lvl bandit threat. This is probably the first time they will shine since like ever, with their DF presence and even a dedicated dungeon.

This really shows well how much WoW graphics improved over the years.

I found it very interesting how in the Chronicle they decided to make the gnoll thread so much more substantial, almost destroying Stormwind.

Stormwind just pretty much sucked, almost its entire history. Much like the humans as a whole, one of the oldest races, but got pretty much nothing of note done until very recently.

Though one can only hope that the gnolls one day wipe stormwind off the map and build their own nation proper.

I really have to see it ingame. This looks OK, but there have also been some very silly screenshots. My personally wished changes are that they have a bigger hunch and the shout a bit shorter. I think mostly the longer snout is what makes them appear as less threatening than the vanilla ones.

The King and a small party of knights put an end to the threat. It was less about Stormwind sucking and more about the Gnolls leader being able to do tactical raids for stuff. Once that leader was eliminated there was no real threat from them.

Why would an airship be a sign of a world revamp? It really just sounds like team world revamp just slaps "its a sign" on to any change. The Alliance loses enough of them that they should be "updated" each iteration anyways lol.

Which tells you the one thing that matters, remotely organised gnolls could have put stormwind down. So yeah Stormwind sucked, the other human nations told them as much, since Stormwind had nothing to offer them.

That, and also it was basically all the gnolls in the vicinity.
Sure it's not the greatest look for Stormwind, but it's not like gnolls are zombies. They can use ranged weapons, and with the gnoll leader they could do stuff like use diversions to gain an advantage.

And yet 75 years later they withstood an initial siege by the Horde and they were far more powerful then gnolls. All it says is that guerilla warfare and ambush-style raiding parties can easily find gaps to be an annoyance.

On paper, yeah they were, but then again they got their military achievements against the Draenei and these people are an entire new breed of stupid, yet the moment the human king was stabbed the humans crumbled, just like the gnolls.

Perhaps but the chronicle did undersell Stormwind but...whatevs.
