But the question isn't if relationships are prominent or important to the story, it's if they are part of the story. None of these new questlines make the relationship important and world defining, it's just there. Let's not act as if it is something new. Perhaps the volume has increased but that's it. If anything it is a more realistic story for it.

Yes, it is whether they are important or prominent. Not sure why you think otherwise. Anything that isn't important or prominent can be changed with little impact.

Thrall's wedding had some importance, but who he got married to did not.
Azuregos and the Spirit Healer was little more than a joke.

And that's what, 4 relationships in 18 years of story?
It's not that they are super impactful it's that wow has always had a ton of relationship stuff and it even takes senator stage from time to time, and no it's not just 4 those are just the most notable ones with big named characters.

off the top of my head there's.

    mankrik and his wife
    Kalecgos and Anveena
    Lor'themar and Liadrin
    Kael'thas and Jaina
    Draka and Durotan
    Ner'zhul and Rulkan
    Sylvanas and Nathanos
    Vereesa and Rhonin
    Alleria and Turalyon

all of theses characters have pretty major story beats based around there relationships and all of them are big players one way or another (other then mankrik) and there are likely tons of other relationships both major and minor through out wow or characters who are defined about losing one half of there relationship.
All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.

The instability and the lag because of the region difference keep me from spending more time with them but they are indeed fun.

So here is one thing I found fairly problematic after playing the last three expansions. Dragonflight does not scale the zones while leveling. I did campaign only, did the Bronze Oathstone at lvl 68 and then I thought I might backtrack to do some sidequests. All sidequests in the first two zones were worth practically no xp because they had greyed out. I thought we were past that . . .

Also this is probably a bug but leveling dungeons don't have scaling ilvl for their loot; it seems it always drops at max normal dungeon ilvl.

It's Lor'themar and Thalyssra (the Nightborne leader), not Liadrin. They're actually going to be married as of Dragonflight too, and I think they've said there will be a short story coming about their wedding.

It was Lor'themar and Liadrin for a while but then Blizzard dropped that plot and moved to Thalyssra.

Some people shipped Liadrin and Lorthemar (or maybe there was a love triangle if you include Gallel) in an old story. I think they were good friends.

You keep saying that and you keep failing to realise that you're only bringing up a tiny fraction of the story. There's no "ton" of relationship stuff unless you consider the entirety of lore to be in the gigaton range.

Page 1712 in some pre-xpac thread 2022 is all about „marriages in WoW“.

    this says A LOT about
    - the game’s state.
    - the difference to some older xpacs.
    - the lack of other things to discuss, like i.e. content, features, etc.
    - how many ppls are even left in WoW, to discuss something.

    harsh times.

I mean I keep bringing other issues but people just dismiss them. I think it says less about the game and more about the people active in this thread.

Crawl back to your hole. The players got what they wanted. No systems whatsoever. People aren’t posting as much because there isn’t as much to flame and big streamers with hordes of mind slaves are generally positive.

No power behind any grinds. You have m+, raids and PvP (vastly improved by solo rated) and professions. You can choose which endgame activity you like.

Btw another random thing; the Gnoll boss from the Azure Span dungeon doesn't actually die, she escapes. I guess she is going to come back? Maybe far fetched but while I don't see direct Galakrond references, Decay magic seems to be his province and is shown as the opposite of Order (even though that's Fel?) so maybe she'll show up again later in the expac if Galakrond comes back.

Professions are in no way an endgame activity on par with M+/Raids/PvP. It is an activity that is done at end game but it has a stunted gear progression and the cost and time required to get there is far less than just doing normal world content.

Isn't Decay the opposite of Spirit, i.e. Elemental magic?

It is. It's how you enslave the elements (what the Taunka use) as well. Yet the gnoll Decay magic was used in a more literal sense (disease) and more importantly the reagent system in DF juxtaposes Order with Decay; we get reagents for Air, Earth, Fire, Frost (not water), Order and Decay. Though at the same time I guess in the past we have gotten Life and Shadow which are also not opposites (Light and Death would be).

Anyway I'd doubt they'd keep a leveling dungeon boss alive who doesn't even get a story in her own dungeon and zone questline for something beyond fodder in a future raid later in the expac. We didn't even hear about Wratheye during questing, she is just in the dungeon and not even talkative there. So I assume she'll be reused at a raid.

Decay is elemental magic associated with death, Spirit is elemental magic associated with life and this aligns ln both cosmology charts. They're opposite pairings.

As of now that is. Dunno how they'll aling if we get 3rd perspective on the cosmology chart.

I realized that GoT prequel (House of the Dragon) will have finale same week we expect pre-patch. Pretty lucky for Blizz, cause it was unknown if show will be even good before it started.

Which makes Order the odd one out, being the only non-elemental one. Though i don't think it's in there as an opposite to anything; it's there because the land is heavily Titan influenced. Meanwhile, Spirit is missing because Azeroth is siphoning it off to sustain herself, so there wouldn't be any for us to use.
