Unfortunately, just based on "what is the most obvious thing that Blizzard is telegraphing" the "world tree" is probably Avaloren.

Why it's invisible IDK (2x invisible force field? it's Atlantis?) but I think that Avaloren will appear in Dragonflight and not in the future.

I'm also a strict advocate against the Night Elf tree being on another continent "cus da Greens like them" as it sets dangerous precedent for how disconnected the races of Azeroth might be in the future/pretty much destroys hopes for an EK/Kalimdor revamp (northrend/pandaria is never happening imo).

I don't think that they need an island world tree tbh. The seed does not have to grow into a world tree, it could be something else entirely (or it could be planted IN the Emerald Dream and help stabilize it or something similar).

That would be a departure from the typical naming of World Trees(Avaloren). Even the non blessed one was called Teldrassil and such. All World Trees had a similar naming convention.

I don't think Avaloren is a world tree, it is most likely some kind of fortress, overtaken titan structure (not a facility as they don't say Uld) or an old name for some place we already know by a different name (I like the theory that it's North EK).

It could just be a new continent but I think it'll have to be relevant to DF in some way.

The subtext of the seed cutscene is 100% "the Night Elves go into the seed to make a new tree" even if it's not stated, and it's coupled with the Forsaken getting their entire old city back instead of creating a new one.

It would be insane if it's not going to be a new tree that looks incredibly similar to Teldrassil (albeit with some Ardenweald things in it, probably sprites and the blue ghosts).

I imagine the Horde will be getting Undercity as a hub again at some point. So whatever new hub the Alliance gets for the Night Elves it has to be accessible by low level players. Otherwise there would be an imbalance.

Perfect timing to bring back Gilneas

I don't think the Gilneans would appreciate a massive world tree being planted in their capital.

Also, that would mean 3 Alliance cities in EK but only 2 Horde ones.

Danuser's comments on Gilneas are probably the most decisive thing. Plans might change but it really does seem like they will do a reclamation of Gilneas thing, and we know it's not the heritage quest (as that wasn't what happened).

If they want to do Gilneas, what else will happen? And what would the Horde equivalent be? Most importantly... what would the context be?

The Night Elves could get something better than a tree imo. They could get the apex of Mt Hyjal with Nordrassil as their capital.

I was for Hyjal/Nordrassil but after the Undercity got reclaimed I can't see the Nelves getting anything more than Teldrassil 2.

So a tree in the same place as the old one?

    Exactly.

Just this time, it hopefully will look like an actual tree.

That would be nice. Like nothing's changed. I just don't really see them doing that for some reason though. For example, why even take the seed to the Dragon Isles in the first place?

Just plant it somewhere closer to the coast. Cataclysm zones had tons of dead space.
Then you have a new starting area for both Nelves and Worgen inside Gilneas.

Emerald Dream connection to Ysera most likely.
The world revamp dream will never die!

considering the previous EK/Kalimdor revamp is arguably the single most hated thing in WoW, why on earth do you think they would make the colossal mistake of repeating it?
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

The single most hated thing in WoW. That....is just not true. People hated Artifact Power far more.

Uhhhh, what? Cata revamp as most hated thing in WoW? Please.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

That's probably quite a bit of a stretch. It was, however, most definitely a major resource cost that ultimately wasn't worth the effort for the developers, so i still doubt they'd ever do it again.

I mean, they turned highly obsolete (or even dead) zones into a great question experience (Azshara, Westfall, Darkshore). Sure, it is not endgame, but considering how many times I leveled through them since Cata, I say it was worth it. But ye, the gameplay improvement was done, so now they would mainly improve visuals and updated the story. Not worth it.

Honestly if they did a revamp without figuring a way to make it evergreen content or just using those zones for a new xpac, that'd be moronic.
