Biggest bits besides the Nelves working on something/being understandably angry still is that Genn doesn't appear/says he still "hates Horde" (though his wife attends) and Kurog appears, and is noted as a powerful Grimtotem shaman. Though he gets kicked out of the party, he taunts that Wrathion will know the "true power of the Tauren".

Also Jaina couldn't attend because she's fighting pirates. Dagran Jr is attending too. Mia Greymane and Calia have met before so maybe the negotiations are still being worked out?

Also Turalyon and Alleria are happy together!

The Void isn't even evil. They're not doing it for any ulterior reason, it's just part of their nature.

Did we forget that the Nightelves are dealing with that seed full of souls from Ardenweald at the end of SL?

It's already silly that Talanji would attend this thing, the Night Elves and Worgen not forgiving the Horde makes perfect sense.

Though I guess its because its a Horde event, Talanji would prioritize that over the neutrality aspect.

That part is fine, but the Alliance doesn't need inner conflict, nor do the Nelves only to just feel bitter as the only source of development. I could be paranoid but.....it just makes me wary of repeating BFA but Blue edition(Basically more inner conflict in a faction which was normally Horde)

The "true power of the Tauren" line is interesting and makes me think we're going to get some lore on where they came from. Maybe related to that art of the Fire Tauren?

Also Arator is 100% going to be one of the "kids we aged up for a plot reason" and he's very likely the Child of Light and Shadow, so... again, another point to the timeskip not being related to Dragonflight, but the future.

Any TL;DR of the short story?
Wrathion has nightmares of becoming Deathwing. Gets invited to Lor'themar and Thalyssra's wedding. Kurog Grimtotem shows up and antagonizes him. He leaves and talks to Kalecgos about not having a true home. All dragons suddenly feel a sense they need to go somewhere, and meeting up at Wyrmrest they find pretty much all dragons and Alexstrasza who says it's time to return to the Dragon Isles at last.

Among that we learn that Lor'themar and Thalyssra fell in love during a poetry slam. Wrathion is lonely. Quite a few still don't trust Black Dragons at all, including Wrathion. Baine and Highmountain lady is dating. Nelves have essentially segregated themselves from the Alliance, and Genn still holds a grudge.

Large chunks of the short story is essentially Wrathion mentioning all the people at the wedding and how he is totally not jealous of how most of them either have, or come with a +1. Of special notice he absolutely loathes how happy Baine is, and how sappy the entire wedding feels.

Yeah man, its so pointless to protray the proper emotional response by a society that experienced a genocide just a few years ago.
They should just forget about it, hold hands and sing Kumbaya with their nearest horde neighbor.

Them being angry at the Alliance feels very out of character though. Unless of course we are to assume that the rest of the Alliance have started peaceful drum circles in Stormwind and the Nelves are the only ones who still don't trust the Horde.

That is not what I said at all. Seriously don't start with that. I just don't want Alliance Inner conflict because people are loud in demanding things going on with the faction.

It was a good short story. Liked the ending leading up to the Dragons being summoned to the Dragon Isles.

Arator doesn't need aging up, he's been an adult for a while. He showed up in TBC, remember? He'd be in his early 20s in TBC, roughly.

Like usual with Golden I really got into the emotions and settings.
I didnt really enjoy how much of it felt like a long procession of various characters who were just there though. Feels like there was a full page of almost nothing but Wrathion stating that X was there with Y.
Wrathion's contempt at Baines optimism did make me chuckle though. Felt like Wrathion was channeling all the forums being angry at Baine being useless.

Arator is already an adult and a Paladin of the Silver Hand.

Mixed him up with Vereesa's kid, who are actually two kids, oops. I do wonder who these "important kids" might be besides Dagran, the twins, and Liadrin's daughter/Children's Week girl (who already cameo'd as a young adult at the end of SL pre-timeskip). Thrall's kids seem too young still.

All good, and for what its worth I do still see a sort of "new generation" thing in the works, all the same.

Didn't the alliance agree to a truce with the horde? Sounds like a dividing factor to me.

Thats not a dividing factor like at all. There's no point on being hostile to the other faction right now other then "What if" which is flimsy at best.

This honestly sounds like a good reset for Nelves to be a little more like how they were in Classic and WC3. They aren't peaceniks anymore, and even if they open up a neutral city there will definitely be some hostilities.
    No thanks.
