"BfA/SL story is shit and Danuser is behind it" is weak, but still counterargument to "I think Danuser is good writer", not "Some people here think Danuser is obsessed about Sylvanas, while in fact they are obsessed about Danuser."

The whole point of leadership is to take the blame when shit goes wrong under your jurisdiction. Otherwise you're just wearing the title as a trophy. Danuser deserves all the shit that gets flung his way and more, that's the weight of the crown.

Danuser is the lead narrative designer, meaning he's the one in charge of wows lore trajectory and is responsible for its consistency and quality.
Therefore, he shall and will be blamed if the current narrative development is complete and utter trash.

Should people stop obsessing over the Danuser-vanas thing? Sure, as that's just pointless circlejerking at the end of the day.
But what people should absolutely not do, is stop holding him accountable for his shitty writing.

Blizzard proves time and time again that they default to 'what the community whines loudest about' when it comes to high-level design decisions. Blizzard dug this grave by not telling MMO-C posters to get fucked every time someone makes a suggestion. When they crowdsource game design from armchair game designers online, this is what you get.

RIP all the theories about February being a crazy 9.2 release + Blizzcon Online. All bets are off the table now. The only constant to speculate around is SoM release and if there will be a media push during it.

Okay, now I would also believe that 9.2 could be further out than I though if that is the case.

The Sylvanas book got delayed so that definitely would of spoiled the Chains of Domination cinematic and whatever else is in store for us.

People been saying for years that nothing bad will ever happen to Sylvi, because Danusser is too much infatuated with her (and Nathanos, but how did it end for him?) Every time we got some story progression or discussion, I see plenty of "Danny this" and "Danny that". We just had a guy claiming he wont even allow her imprisonment in 9.2. You are also another one who mixes anti-criticism with anti-obssesing.

This is horrible. A book delay, again? Has Christie to rewrite it to fit the new agenda or what? I mean it’s a book and this is barely due to COVID or whatever you might blame it. And it’s just five weeks so don’t tell me this is due to COVID or production delays, lol. Production delays regarding 9.2 maybe, but definitely not for the book.

I very much think 9.2 and the book share some stuff and are connected, but I refuse to believe they’re going to delay 9.2 until (late) March. With how bad 9.1 had been received and how 9.1.5 adds nothing to that it would be a very bold move to have 9.1 last for 9-10 months.

I'm not so sure about that. I think I read something somwhere a while ago that they do have printing related shortages right now, which iirc also affected some board games and stuff.

You never know with delays. I have been waiting for ana apartment to be built so I can finally move in for well over 10 months now, and the apartment was already delayed when it was agreed that I would buy it. That project has had problems everywhere, ranging from sick workers to lack of flagstone and even amusingly a lack of a flowerbed sprinkler system.

A book being delayed because of a myriad reasons isn't entirely unthinkable. Could be it was just regular delayed, then there were issues with printing afterwards, you never know.
