Golden has even making tweets like this since before legion shes been rather obsessed with alternate timelines since atleast war crimes so this really doesn’t mean much:

The Covenant races are based on existing rigging, like all allied races, but have unique animations. And Sylvan males use the draenei female skeleton. And I'm not sure if it would be the skeletal maldraxxians or the robust ones. Or maybe even both, as they share a lot of animations. And I think if we can actually get them as allied races, they would still let you play a Venthyr & join the Kyrians. I think that was the story logic for letting us freely switch in the first place.

Basically would you rather have covenant allied races, or allied races that are ready to go but set up before shadowlands: Like undead Night Elves & Lightforged undead. Knowing Void Elves its a totally toss up at Blizzard.

I personally don’t want any allied races at all. But if we got some, please make it make sense. And allied races that are bound by a faction is a horrible idea overall. Make all four available to both factions or don’t implement them at all.

If they're joining the Horde or Alliance at all, it's going to need a bit of an asspull storywise. WTF in the afterlives cares about some piddling faction war?

Yep. The usual "pretty races for alliance, edgy races for the horde" gets lame. And it wouldn't make sense, because horde and alliance helped them alike. Then again...nightborn.

That’s why I said either make them faction agnostic or don’t bring them in. Shadowlands Covenants couldn’t care less about factions… I guess. But knowing Blizzard…

So if we're finally concluding Sylvanas' storyline: That makes me think of those Forsaken Night Elves & Forsaken Blood Elves would be a more fitting choice. Undercity can be neutral like Dalaran from now on. Who cares?

So - just looked at the in game calendar. Wow's 17th Anniversary begins next week. They will definitely want to make an announcement on 9.2 before then. Additionally, looks like there is a new anniversary pet: Timeless Mechanical Dragonling.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet it ties into the next expansion and that we will get a combined 9.2/10.0 announcement.\

Edit: Even has a unique attack - Time Bomb.

There's also a likely world boss that'll drop a mount too. As I recall there was datamining some months back that indicated Doomwalker and Illidari scouts will appear in Tanaris and Doomwalker will drop a Dragonhawk variant.

So could mean something, or nothing.

The next major System is the 'redeem Sylvanas" feature. We take her on WQ and stuff and give her gifts and she eventually is redeemed.

Nah, she'll have to deny herself the "freedom" so the "others could have it". A.k.a. become the Arbiter. Can't even say this is half-bad now, more than a fitting punishment considering that "not being free" is the last thing her "half-soul" self wanted.

Or she'll die trying to break Anduin free from the Jailer, right in his arms. You can't say Danuser (or some other member of the current story team) wouldn't pull that either.

Quite lame, but not exactly surprising.

I remember that. Seems weird that Blizz hasn't highlighted this yet. Maybe this will be a part of the "What's Next" video that will likely be released soon.

They could've just said each timeline has their own Shadowlands and that'd have been that. No one would have questioned it. Instead they gave the dumbest answer to the question possible.

It seems to come up more & more frequently, between the Korthia Quest where we abandon the other soulstones or Afrasiabi not understanding Wrathgate was a coup by Varimathras. The first job of someone in charge of the "lore" of the game is making sure all the underlings you have writing quests be on the same page about what's actually going on.
