    I think so
PTR release so late makes not much sense, they could deploy one updated build before they leave for holidays. So they would - at best - have the launch build and a revised build until early / mid January, where new builds will follow. This doesn't sound very efficient in my opinion.

announcement this week 100%, if its thursday/friday PTR also this week probably not. if today/tomorrow, maybe.
Sitting tight again for today 19:00-21:00!!
I will not reply to posts that are non-constructive or contain flaming and/or trolling.

Maybe they changed it later, because it would look to similar to the 9.2 zone? Since at the guardian boss the theme of the first ones seems to involve sand as well.
Maybe. It's hard to judge why they decide to do one concept instead of another. Maybe they thought it was too recent after Vol'dun and went for rolling hills instead, maybe they wanted to save the desert look for Zereth Mortis, maybe they decided they wanted it to look more distinctly heavenly/ethereal instead of grounded landscape and rounded everything down, or they just didn't think it meshed well with the vision they had of the Kyrian.

If they get PTR up now then they would probably get at least 2-3 builds in-between.
Besides, PTRs best quality is in mass testing for obscure bugs. Leaving the PTR up even while the devs are on holiday breaks makes sense given how much data they would gather on what works, what doesn't and so on.

Could be the concept artist only got told "golden rolling hills" and conceptualised that as dunes of sand.
Or for that matter it was always meant to be golden grass, and this concept art just happens to look more like sand. Or for that matter that the original design intent was golden grass that looks like sand, that eventually got scrapped in favour of just regular golden/white grass.

    All quite possible.

Note that the initial view of it was only the middle parts (little more than the central citadel) and cut off before the individual leaves at the bottom. It does look a lot more like oriental desert that way.

It's also important that noone knew this was supposed to be an Elysian field inspired zone. All we knew was that if this was real then it was likely something to do with the Shadowlands. And I that regard a dreamlike desert seems slightly more reasonable compared to yellow grass when you look at that picture.

Alternate reality is not the same reality. And there's no reason why an army dedicated to the annihilation of the Burning Legion would align with us.

For what it's worth, I recognized it as grass the first time I saw the picture. Not only because of the grass texture in the foreground, but also because of the cliff shapes on the far left and especially the far right. Sand dunes physically can't be that steep, but cliffs can, and since the cliffs are topped with the same color ground, it was pretty obviously grass growing on the tops of rocky cliffs, which is what you see in Bastion.

Right but regular hills aren't as triangular and peaked as the dunes you see in the middle and the outer edges are literally turning into clouds.

Reminder that when the bastion art got leaked the visible patch of grass was cropped out, without the fuzz it just looked like dunes.

The people in here are... many things. They just try to hype themselves, even if there is no indication of anything actually happening. If you want patch info it's best to just wait for the front page here or WoWhead.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

I highly disagree. most ppl who are still here posting here are making good predictions/made good predictions so far. not all of them ofc but i see those ppl who are good in predicting saying it might be up today or in very very near future, therefore i gotta trust them and hype myself with them.

Yes, but it only works one way, if you like something.

If you say WoW is dead, devs never listen and 9.1 PTR will be earliest in August 21 you are genius and should replace Ion.
