Oh no, I get that, and I find it really stupid that they're re-using the same thing again, but I just like the idea of it expanding to encompass the afterlife as well. We always thought the Shadowlands were a naturally occurring thing, but now we know for certain that they're artificial.
Don't get me wrong, I think Titans 2.0 is a stupid decision in general, I just like this one little piece they've done with it.
I absolutely love it. And I wasn't expecting to be hyped about anything Comiscal or even Zereth Mortis.
I also really like the approach to the Tier sets, because they fit Zereth Mortis. They're not some randomly themed sets like we have been having prior to BfA. It's ok for sets to be random in certain raids or zones, and often they turn out amazing, but in a zone such as this, the realm of the First Ones... You can't expect a paladin set to look all light-infused and Stormwind themed, or for a Warlock set to have skulls and slime and demonic wings or whatever. No, it had to reflect the First Ones architecture and overall artstyle. Sleek, timeless, non-organic. And I think they have done an excellent job at that.

The change of devs is really starting to show.
Excitement for snails, pets and dances for a main patch is really indicative. Not to mention the change in artstyle. Next thing we know, we'll be drowned with cute and fluffy content in WoW.
And obviously, one of the ugliest set class is DH, which is my main -_- (pala too)
PTR when now?
I don't really get the negativity towards the tier sets, to me this feels in line with something like T12 (Firelands) where the sets have a shared theme with the raid/zone in question and they do different takes on that. Yeah I'm all for super unique looking tier sets and I can't wait to get some more colorful Monk sets but for this patch, for this raid, I don't see the big complaint about the 'unified' theme.
Those sets are exactly what I would expect from a reimagining of the tier sets idea. Instead of throwing random sets in a raid they are adapting the aesthetics of the raid/zone to the tier sets keeping true the class designs (the monk set screams monk). As an example Ulduar warlock set: cool af but totally out of place
"Don’t assume it’s just going to be one thing. There’s storylines building up for the next great book in the Warcraft saga. Some of that groundwork is laid here, but there’s a lot more back on Azeroth we need to get back to, and delve into some storylines and characters there.”
Okay, good. So, after the Life and Death plotline with Zovaal, the Covenants, etc, we'll go back to Azeroth and set up the next plotline (Which is most likely Light and Shadow). Apparently this zone is where the First Ones set up the Machine of Death, which implies Death in itself was made by them, and this realm was their hub of experimentation.
