They kinda confirmed a 9.2.5. I think it will be an epilogue patch maybe around late Spring that has a few small storylines and maybe a cutscene or two. Also setsup some of the lead in to 10.0.
If 9.2.5 doesn't have a resolution to how the shadowlands is going to work, and what happens to the maw going forward, 9.2.5 will.

I don't think cross-faction is happening anytime soon, but I think they will do Cross faction grouping for all activities in 9.2 or 10.0. I don't think that means you will join the opposite faction and be in their city, but at least all instanced content and maybe even world mob spawns will be cross-faction. We work together. There might still be small skirmishes and war games, but for the most part we are working together.

The Alliance Mythic scene is literally dead.
Pleas, I don’t want Horde races on Alliance or vice versa. You can sell me on cross faction stuff, but I don’t want them to join different factions, sounds like a horrible idea.

I know it's cringe af but I always wanted to play as human on Horde
But no, crossfaction raids may be true but real borderless WoW is impossible dream for now.
It must be stressed that "cross-faction activities" does NOT mean that factions are dissolved. The Alliance and Horde will remain and they might even go to war eventually, but the individual character might choose to side with one faction instead of the other for RP purposes.
SWTOR already does this with players of one faction being able to sabotage and undermine their own faction to help the other one.
Lorewise we have one pirate crew who, despite being Kul Tirans, joined the Horde and granted them a foothold in Tiragarde Sound.
Sure it is weird that a Night elf would fight for the Horde, but at this point the lore is already fucked beyond salvation.
I think that I would like to have my Blood elf toon sabotage the Horde and fight for the Alliance, I would be pleased by this opportunity![]()


I want total cross faction - play together in (war mode off) open world (don't you hate when orange player tags all mobs?), instances and joined guilds, storylines/cities would be still separate.
Of course in War Mode on cross grouping shouldn't be possible - and hopefully cross faction elsewhere would make things more even here. Also I have idea to transform War Mode into some kind of heroic world mode with unique rewards for each faction, which could encourage players to play both sides as well.
War Mode would be weird in a truly cross faction world to be sure. Allowing factions to play together for open world content with WM off while disabling that feature with WM on is going to just feel wrong & make WM rougher to do things in than it is already. Shared tagging between factions would be especially weird if that were only available with WM off. You could perhaps give us new factions that we opt to team up with (e.g. Light vs. Void) that we use for WM or maybe just turn WM into a chaotic free for all where the only friends you have are whomever you are grouped with.

By the way, what are those updated models that make people bring that "Azeroth revamp" thing?
The biggest problem is they are clearly tacked on and progression is not organic, it is just crap stuff you have to do on the side if you want a good char. I joined during last patch b of a and grinding essences on the mechanized island was freaking moronic. I outgeared the place by like 50 item levels, I could absolutely solo everything on the island and win the rebellion single handed, and they were like, “eh… we still don’t trust you, come back every day for a month and farm bear asses, THEN you can get you bis.”

Problem is systems are designed for people who play one character, cause in the past they ran out of content faster and faster with each expansion. People who play alts didn't have that problem.
Blizzard in SL removed grind from systems, replaced it with timegates and thought it will be enough to both occupy people and make playing alts possible. But this just make system meaningless, you don't care about thing that falls from the sky every week for you.
Second mistake was thinking people won't care about not having things to do on daily basis for player power when they have grinds for cosmetics. They care.
Clear solution would be to make every system like that account-wide from the start - of course it would require effort on char that progress it. Scraping progression system would just revert game to WoD/TBC classic cause our knowledge isn't going anywhere. I don't see how even world revamp or housing would keep people who care only about player power.
Rewards are the key. Now war mode beside leveling is pretty dead, what point of it, getting few anima or research? Also as I said, I would like combining war mode on with heroic mode. Something like that:
- in Heroic mode open world is much, much harder and difficulty increased with each patch (you're undergeared on new patch? sorry, first you must gear via catch up in normal mode)
- reputation and materials massively increased, not just 10%
- unique cosmetic rewards both for PVE and PVP goals
- LEVELING:
- separate layer for leveling for characters 1-59 (1-69 if there will be no squish)
- it's one way for leveling, if you turn it out, you're out until you reach max level
- no, there is no more XP during leveling, it's not for speedrun, but harder experience
- manual grouping for dungeons in this mode (dungeons have increased difficulty as well)
- each zone and dungeons have separate cosmetic rewards/achievs (also for player housing!)
- dinging char to 60/70 as well, it would also come with basic catch up gear with increased stats each season (so in 10.2 you would get better gear than in 10.1).
- of course it would work best with world revamp, on launch this mode could be limited in new EK/Kalimdor, but in patch they could add it to one old continent, for example 10.1 would be Legion update and people would jump there and level together.

I'm not even sure what you are saying. Player Housing just offers another thing to do thats not power related or outside of the typical gear grind that wow always has. I find it weird that people don't like "More of the same." Like they don't need to reinvent the wheel or anything.
