I will never understand why they didn't tie Hearthstone more to WoW. They had so many opportunities with Cross Promotions, being able to host in-game Hearthstone Tournaments or Dueling people in Hearthstone in-game with WoW, Loot Card reimplementation in a Digital Format which would boost revenue from WoW player.

Again, I am genuinely just embarassed about the state of moneymaking with WoW even with that they skimp out when there's so much ways to rake in easy profit. But, again it will always only be about the 100% RoI Token and that means no effort on 60/80% RoI stuff.

This version of Activision Blizzard doesn't even really do revenue gathering at a level that should be acceptable. The content in-game is bad and their monetization effort is bad. Only now do they start changing their abhorrent monetization strategy that no other business in the industry employ with the pathetic 6 month sub = 1 new item in the shop nonsense because things have gone south and revenue up is necessary for Q4.

I think he is doing his job perfectly alright on the business front. Otherwise there would be no reason for the board to defend him.
His continued presence is definitely hurting morale though, and I imagine that counts for a lot.

If the overlaps between WoW and HS was close to 100% then sure, but I doubt this is even close to true

I'm thinking "Spring" myself. So like March/April. Which honestly would be average or maybe even a bit under average for a final patch length.

But I'm also assuming that this revamp has been in the background for the last few expansions and the Warfronts were teases of what the updated zones would look like.

We are all going to be so disappointed when it's a bog standard expansion.

Not sure how a new CEO will even change WoW.

Short term it definitely won't affect WoW much, but it will probably do two things.

1. Short-term it'll take the negative PR pressure off the game. A lot of folks who swore off the game due to not wanting to support a culture of abuse will feel like it's okay to start coming back.

2. Longer-term a new CEO might change their stance toward things like MAUs or Blizzard autonomy. This could be good, letting the devs have more control over their game, or bad in that they further-enforce nonsense like "Seasonal Gameplay."

There were new westfall terrain textures in BfA beta, if those are the first signs (that I remember) it might imply this having started during Legion.

Yeah I think if it's happening they probably started working on it or at least discussing it after they revamped the character models. Ever since WoD and Legion they have been updating creature, building, doodad models etc.

When this was announced the main property where this would be big news (World of Warcraft) had no article or any acknowledgment of this happening. With the only presence of it being the Overwatch Crossplay video from Aaron Keller.

IDK I still think about this a lot and just how this never was an announcement that the Warcraft Team made. Maybe they did so with intent and World of Warcraft would not have these features, but the only game where Regions is the biggest thing is WoW. But, yeah IDK just makes you think.

(Then again I feel like this would be very wise for an Expansion announcement and the whole ending the Mythic Worldwide Release problem by just forcing the issue)

This will all pass as well, Blizz just has to reach their big game releases.

My understanding is that Hearthstone was made in the Unity game engine. Unless Hearthstone was made in the WoW engine from the get go... then, what? If you were to play Hearthstone, then would starting a HS match in WoW boot up Unity? So you pretty much have two games running on your computer at once?

They really think releasing paid cosmetic that looks better than anything you can earn by playing, and definitely looks better than any of the trahsfire of tier sets they are releasing next patch, in a week when news are on fire about Bobby's shittery during the lowest point of any expansion is somehow good idea?
