The easy answer to that is "retcon". They didn't decide "lol actually there's a SUPER SECRIT DEATH PLANE WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT!!!", the Shadowlands is clarified pretty clearly as the Plane of Death. The reason it's separate is because they didn't think this through yet when they wrote Chronicles and they probably came up with the whole plot for Shadowlands as it is now during Legion or even BFA.

What's wrong is to infer by that there is a "Light" "Void" "Order" or "Chaos" plane. Because if there is, that means Shadowlands & the Death Plane are NOT the same place.

This is the weirdest patch where I feel excited but my body is in permanent violent recoil mode as I just feel the Beaming Zovaal Ending happening. There's just too much pointing at it and all the cool stuff is just noise trying to entrap you in another dark hole where your resentment for the narrative team evolves further.

What an insane situation that has been established by the Narrative Team and the Game Director.

So much good stuff pointing at interesting stuff and yet I just can't worry that the climax is the "You are heroes that are using this game as escapism so here's your happy dose of happiness where you win against the unstoppable bad guy".



Tinkers are the best and are always going to be my pick for a new class, no question asked. There's just so much possibility on what it could be.

Well, here's a question along these lines, then!—what kind of beamy thing will we do? Surely, they won't have us just do another beam. They need to do some other rule of cool thing.

Those aren't planes. A planet is not a plane. A consciousness is not a plane. And the idea that Titans are birthed from planets then live on top of them is just absurd.

Fan made. Sylvanas is nowhere in the Zovaal fight, in regards to abilities. Regardless, we'll be able to realize if Sylvanas is actually in the fight or not. Seems as tho Blizzard just wants Zovaal to fall to the Heroes of Azeroth, with Sylvanas being the new Jailer or so.

Those aren't planes. A planet is not a plane. A consciousness is not a plane. And the idea that Titans are birthed from planets then live on top of them is just absurd.

You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm quoting an interview where they used the nickname "titan planet" for wherever Titans go when they die. Logically, given things tend to return to their space of quality in WoW, they therefore go to a Plane of Order if they don't go to the Shadowlands and there's a particular place for them elsewhere. The Light and Void themselves are both entered physically in WoW–Natalie Seline was in the Void, and we see people go to the Light, as well.

Also, I'm aware the picture is fake. I'm making a sarcastic comment about how the plot orbits around her.

The Twisting Nether most definitely is. We also have the Gardens of Life being mentioned. Travel into and through the Void is a regular occurence. At this point, we're only missing Order and Light.

I think what's trying to be communicated is that the "real" Plane of Death is akin to the Gardens of Life, whilst the Shadowlands orbit Azeroth and are like the Emerald Dream of the Death Plane in a way akin to how the Gardens and Emerald Dream are related. However, this is entirely nonsense because non-Azerothians and even other timelines go to the Shadowlands. We also know that the Shadowlands are seemingly "recognized" and challenged by the other Cosmic Forces in a direct way. If there's an Emerald Dream analogue that is the imprinting of that plane upon a physical realm, it's obviously the Veil.

I think it's a misreading of the Chronicles graphic, interpreting things into it that aren't actually stated. In particular, putting far to much weight on anything not being shown, when that doesn't actually mean anything other than the Chronicles not covering it. It's not like they went into any kind of detail on the Shadowlands.
