Blizz probably does this because it’s a quick and easy way to make players dislike a villain, when they openly mock you and treat you like shit. Its an iconic part of Azshara, it worked VERY well for Nathanos (see: people still seething about him) and they tried to do it with Zovaal.

Who was the last villain who somewhat respected you and your power level? N’zoth? It doesn’t happen much in this game.

There's a difference between "openly mocking and treating you like shit" and "underestimating you and not actually bothering to stop you when they're easily able to do so". Like, this isn't about him making us feel bad, it's about him actually succeeding with his GRAND PLAN and achieving his ultimate goal. Are you trying to say he actually cares more about pissing on us and making us feel bad than his whole "rewrite reality" shtick?

No, the character intent is different, but the results are near the same: character says you’re nothing, he’s meanie, go kill him for that.

It isn’t logical, it is probably just to give retard players a baseline to kill this new OC character. Sylvanas was the real reason anyone went into this to kill a boss, you kind of already did that, clean up this bad guy and move on.

I would phrase that differently still, the grunt workers create nice work with the guidelines imposed on them, but frankly the whole "blocky machine-golem" thing is kinda lame imho, so at least the direction of the art team has been rather disapointing in this patch.

Grunt workers that need to color the trees or sample the audio are okish.

Also, yes, this is a speculation thread. Not a "complaining about imagined slights" thread. Your claim doesn't even fit with reality, since we've not been dealing with ever increasing threats. It's been going up and down repeatedly. We're not even dealing with a more serious threat than in Legion, since their end goal is, from our perspective, fairly similar, as is how close they get to accomplishing it, yet we can fight Zovaal directly while Sargeras was beyond our capabilities even with the Artifacts.

For all they said about Titan+ to hype up the Eternals, the game has done everything to show that the Eternal Ones are weaker than Titans. I think this is actually the intent as you see a Constellar here to remind you that they exist as well.

We don’t even know who made the Titans as they aren’t robots/are born from planets instead of Zereths.

Majority of people have checked out of the expansion so it doesn’t matter what they do with Zovaal, he’s literally just an ant on the windshield that needs to be cleared before 10.0 trailer appears. Probably why they don’t care to change him at this point.

You aren't understanding what I'm saying. IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR HIM TO BE OVER CONFIDENT! He is THE GOD PLANNER who has steered our history in his favor for tens of thousands of years. He should know us better than we know ourselves. The fact that he will make such a massive, monumental blunder as this utterly annihilates any suspension of disbelief we could possibly have. It's terrible fucking writing. Just accept it.

So I just compiled a list of loose plot threads for upcoming expansions that have been seeded in Legion/BFA/SL and I couldn't help but notice most of them fall into three categories:

-Cataclysm 2.0: Dragons and Elements
-Light
-Void

Coincidence? I would love if all of this is 10.0, with all three being mixed into the EK/Kalimdor plots and then Dragon Isles at endgame deals with them all in a bigger way.

The first and the third category are one and the same.

Cataclysm 2.0 is 100% about N'Zoth. He is the master of all the evil dragons that have ever appeared (Deathwing and his flight served him, the Void and Twilight dragons serve him, the Infinite dragons serve him, the Nightmare dragons served him via Xavius) as well as the original master of the Elementals, as one of the Old Gods. In Cataclysm, Ragnaros and the Wind Elemental were his servants.

I mean, N'Zoth is literally the orchestrator of the original Cataclysm, the being who infused Deathwing with so much power, allowing him to shatter the world itself, and wage war to usher in the dreaded Hour of Twilight. The moment you say "Cataclysm 2.0", you automatically imply N'Zoth's involvement.

The Light can be its own expansion involving the Lightbound, who at this point should contain all kinds of Lightforged creatures from the conquered Draenor.

I think combining Cosmic + Dragon Isles AND its on Azeroth would be as disastrous as BFA was narratively.

Mainstream audiences will also be extremely overwhelmed and confused when suddenly Space Armada Yrel shows up + Xal'atath and her gang AND Wrathion tells us to swoop to the Dragon Isles.

Meanwhile its on Azeroth which will sting for those who wanted a simple Azeroth expansion.

Scarlets and Twilight cultists are fine for EK/Kalimdor, and then you have all the creatures like Gnolls, the Scourge remnants, Legion remnants, Botani, harpies, etc.

Then you put the bigger villains on Dragon Isles.

Muehzala would also be a good villain to use for the troll areas and can fill the area with the new troll skeletons.

We already got that, so it will be a flip flop where we go to dragon zones that feature elementals instead of elemental zones that feature dragons (Cata)
