Called it.
I also answered your question in my original post; I'm not surprised you ignored it.
I'm also also not going to jump down this rabbit hole again with a poster who so habitually argues disingenuously when it comes to certain topics. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'd wager my fucking life that you're not in the least interested in anybody else's.
Call it a deflection all you want; I'd rather deflect your shit than step in it.

Yes, you correctly predicted that a bad take would generate pushback.
Shocking foresight.
The one I was responding to, there? No, you didn't.I also answered your question in my original post; I'm not surprised you ignored it.
I mean specific, attributable direct benefits from a capitalist-ownership system that cannot be replicated or improved upon by a socialist system. Not hand-waves about "stuff".
I literally asked for you to explain your position. I'm not the one being condescending and disingenuous, here.I'm also also not going to jump down this rabbit hole again with a poster who so habitually argues disingenuously when it comes to certain topics. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'd wager my fucking life that you're not in the least interested in anybody else's.
I asked simply for literally anything that capitalism does "better" for society than socialist ownership models could. That shouldn't be a hard ask, but you chose to launch personal attacks without provocation while skipping past your rhetorical obligation to actually back up your own claims.
Propaganda is a very powerful tool and it has created a reality where any narrative is possible. You have large parts of the country now who are Qanon supporters that fact shows how far this insanity has gone and how impotent government has been in controlling it. It's somewhat of a natural evolution of a system where politicians don't lead but just try to stay in office as long as the furniture.
Like...how though? What's the government program to combat people watching shitty conspiracy theory videos on their iphone while at home and then go onto Telegram to post about it in their social groups? I mean, it's dumb as fuck, but what's the government to do to "control" it that won't also hit vast swathes of behavior from normal folks?
All these conspiracy theories became widespread because of algorithms whose sole purpose is to push engagement. These movement grew because there is no limitation or liability for these companies. This is not just benign either every company from youtube to facebook has had incidents of child abuse because the algorithm keep feeding victims to predators.
Would they go to their own platform sure but as telegram has shown they need the main feeds in twitter to be relevant. This is a monster that we as a society let grow in the name of profit and here we are with the consequences.
Public education that works, for one.
Penalizing conspiracy a little bit more harshly. Nobody cares if you believe the FBI's replacing birds with spy drones, but when you start collaborating to "do something about it", that crosses a line.
Apply standards to broadcast media, at least. If you can't show a naked female boob on broadcast TV, you can cut out the propaganda dickweasel shit, too. We'd have to work out the details, but fines of, say, $1,000 per viewer could do some good. To put that in perspective, Tucker Carlson gets like 3.5 million viewers, so that'd be fines to Fox News for, oh, $3.5 billion every time Tucker says something propagandic and stupid on his show. If that's not enough, I'm definitely open to scaling that figure upwards, but it shouldn't go lower.
For starters, at least.
I'm all for more regulation of social media companies, but how is that going to stop these people who go to sites dedicated to this insanity? What does this do for the social groups they have on these platforms where all they're doing is sharing and discussing this misinformation?
Sure but I'd argue this is infinitely more a social/cultural issue than a regulatory one. It has regulatory aspects, absolutely, but this isn't something the government itself can "fix", it has to come from the bottom up (just like it started).
We didn't get to where we are because people looked for conspiracy theories, we have a system that basically converts people into these types for them. For example because I watch political videos youtube has continuously bombarded with right wing conspiracy site advertisements and suggestions. It's thing like these that radicalize people that we aren't regulating. You can stop this information from being shared on their platform, it's the combination of ease of use and the algorithm. You have to remember people are very lazy the harder you make it to get and share that information the less they will be able and willing to spread it.
The government has been doing absofuckinglutely nothing, the government can make great strides in fixing this. We can't get rid of it entirely but the fact that it is now main stream is a failure of government.Sure but I'd argue this is infinitely more a social/cultural issue than a regulatory one. It has regulatory aspects, absolutely, but this isn't something the government itself can "fix", it has to come from the bottom up (just like it started).

That in no way negates my summation of her as a "mainstream media reporter." But you already knew that.

To go even further... you know what really, really bothers the American Left? Right down to their core?
When their ideological counterparts on the other side are enjoying themselves. This whips them up into a frenzy that they can not resist. They literally can not control themselves when this happens.
It really does boil down to that their conspiracy theory ridden brains can’t fathom that others aren’t as awful of people as they are.

It's hilarious to me how many of you are clinging to the fantasy that "LGB" was not created by a member of the mainstream media...
You guys really are sad and unhappy.
You have my pity.

More good news from the environmental front. Ford announced doubling their electric F-150 line and Mercedes announced a long-range electric sedan on the same day. This, combined with the continuing long-term move away from the objective failure of the coal industry, is a move towards lower emissions.
Mostly unrelated, the S&P is doing well, recovered from when Trump crashed the market in 2020. Experts also predict the S&P will continue to rise in 2022.
