Inflation hasn't hit because the Fed can do Hocus Pocus and people like you only seem to complain when that Hocus Pocus could benefit the proles.

The fact is, if nothing is done for the average person; the US really doesn't have much time left to escape what seems like its likely destiny. Look, the real economy has been dead since 2008, and the Stock Market little more than an animated corpse sustained by Fed Necromancy. Biden and the new Dem Senate and House have basically 100 days to sort out the worst Depression this country has faced. Millions are nearly starving and homelessness is expanding daily by the tens of thousands.

Money, is, point of fact, totally fake. It's paper backed by fairy tales and unicorn dust. Your local Wells Fargo branch actually incidentally prints money daily. None of that shit is actually real.

The United States is basically a hollowed out wreck that might be too late to even salvage, but for sure, there is a 100 day window to buy public faith or, well, I predict the events on Wednesday at the Capitol will be just a short sliver of a glimpse of the future.

It's a fact they were let in. It's absolutely unbelievable they were able to get into both chambers of congress and the offices of the congress members with only one person being shot if the police were carrying out their duties.

Earlier, I talked about putting off any health care initiatives until later in the year, and make a big deal about how Biden is STANDING UP TO SANDERS AND ONLY GOING FOR THE PUBLIC OPTION. The idea presented here is to make this one of the first things he does, and to add reducing the retirement age of Medicare from 65 to 60, something Biden has mentioned.

At the same time, he can STAND UP TO THE RADICAL AOC by NOT DOING GREEN NEW DEAL, but in the meantime empowering the EPA to basically start the work of implementing Green New Deal ideals. Obviously Biden and Sanders and AOC should coordinate their messages. At least PRETEND to be on the same team!

And, here is the author's thoughts on this:

To exploit the opening Trump has created, Democrats will need to stick with moderate proposals able to attract some conservative support and avoid trying to ram through liberal wish-list items like Medicare for all or the Green New Deal. They’ll still need the support of liberal Democrats and have to be careful not to ignite a civil war in their own party between Bernie Sanders “progressives” and Biden moderates.

On a practical note, democrats really do have to have something they can say in 2022 - you voted for us in 2020, and we delivered. The public option combined with lowering the medicare age from 65 to 60 would be exactly the correct bill to spend their reconciliation power on.

I agree that lots of stimulus checks have to happen. Taking care of the virus and lots of stimulus checks are crucial. Earlier on I recommended $2k checks every two months until September. I would have to amend that to as long as they continue to be needed.

My initial thoughts were that Public Option should be put off until later on, but a recent article outlined how it could be done very early in Biden's term. Biden could talk about "standing up to Sanders" by rejecting M4A, which would be consistent with his previous position, making Public Option the moderate policy.

I don't care if other people use Sanders as a punching bag, as a liberal I've gotten accustomed to that. It's only a bit distressing that so many democrats are joining in on the attacks on Sanders, especially Representative Clyburn <"I never want to hear the word socialism again." - only a bit cryptic>. But oh well it is what it is. Sanders is still around, and the US really does need to upgrade its medical policies in a drastic manner.

In fact that goes for a lot of legislation, the Republicans used the nuclear option on appointments but not regular legislation.

I think putting on a smoke and mirrors theater of "Standing up to Sanders!" right now would be the most mindbogglingly bad idea ever. Like again, why deliberately pick a slap fight with a massive core of voters who DID elect you in the vein hope you are going to convince .... what? McConnell? McConnell isn't going to buy this?
