? There are people in the US with radical liberal or economic agendas (radical is not an evil world, they may well be right). None of them seem to be in the Democratic party which is at best moderate in social issues and certainly conservative by the standards of most of the world in economic issues. Those scary pink haired people on reddit and twitter are not people with any power in the Democratic party.

Interestingly enough, because of the GOP, the Democrats have great topics of discussion in the upcoming election season...and it's September.

    1) Abortion rights.
    2) Everything else is Trump.

Flip through the conservative media -- nobody's talking about inflation anymore. Trump being a criminal is going to be a huge issue, and the GOP should be worried about that, because their figurehead is a felon.

The lesson republicans seem to fail to learn over and over again is that you can't milk Trump and not get any of the negatives of him being Trump. Although I don't doubt democrats ability to steal defeat in the face of victory this is one heck of a turn around. All they have to do is let Trump be Trump and hog the spotlight like he always does along with continuing nightmare abortion stories from red states. It's only a matter of time before someone gets thrown in jail with a harsh sentence for an abortion adding more fuel to the fire.

Biden to dub MAGA GOP “extreme threat” to democracy in primetime speech

    Let's Go Brandon!

My opinion when he called GOP "semi-fascist" was not far enough. Also I should have posted about a poll a couple weeks back about a poll where "threat to democracy" was #1 in poll. I'm glad the Dems are pushing this and this is not the projection crap of Republicans of Big Bad socialism/communism will take over. Shoot they even call Dems fascists now. So this might be where the poll can be misleading, since Trumpers if were in the poll are again projecting that the threat to democracy is coming from the left and boosting that poll.

I never understood why this wasn't a plan and once more happily surprised by the poll that people were never worried about democracy and how closed brain people were that gas prices > democracy. Yes, people think of themselves and their finances.

After much soul searching, President Biden has decided the greatest threat to American values are his political opponents.
    https://twitter.com/SenTomCotton/sta...lgtnPAf94XciEg

    Oof, the projection.

First have you listened to Trump and his allies? As I stated, the Dems and people on the left have been called every name in the book. Back to authoritarian, fascism of them not wanting to have an opposing political party.

Yes the Republican party who: You Know, tried an insurrection, tried to upend a legitimate election and talked about jailing Hillary during 2020.

I love that their fweeling are hurt on this. The "eff your feelings crowd" is hillarious!
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

I want him to detail exactly how he justifies the modifier of "semi-". What features of fascism do you think the GOP are not currently demonstrating? Be specific, or just go with "fascism" and stop worrying about their whinging. They're never gonna vote for a Democrat anyway; if you put up Literal Jesus Christ Resurrected as a Democrat against RoboHitler for the GOP, running on a platform of "KILL ALL HUMANS", the MAGA crowd are gonna call Christ a social commie virgin soyboy cuck and rush to the polls to vote for the MechaHolocaust.

I mean I possibly we if some of you want to join me live in Crazy World. The projection of one of our only 2 party system here in the US is full on fascist. Yes, time and time again, the Republicans have stated they don't want any other party but themselves. Of course the projection here is if you are a Dem or at least a person who see's how crazy the Republicans are then how can you not say "there shouldn't be this party".

Oh for the people who hang around the Republican party and claim not be fascist or if I can really, really give them the benefit of the doubt they are a good person. Staying in the party, voting for a member who ends up voting with the fascist and most of all giving money to this party is something you should not be doing. If they hate the Dems so much cause they just have to have those low taxes and deregulation, form a new party. Sit it out or form a new party and yes you will take it on the chin for some years but stand for something. But you can't say you are not fascist when maybe next Presidential election cycle a good possibility this will be the outcome.

People think if we have fascism in 2024 that in 2028 you will be able to vote it out? Does people think fascist give up power democratically?
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

So I guess there were a few marines in dress uniform way in the background during Biden's speech or something. I dunno, didn't watch. But a few CNN hosts/editors are calling out the "political use" of those two marines given the topic of the speech.

Predictably, right ring media are loving this and absolutely running wild with "CNN CRITICIZES BIDENS POLITICAL USE OF THE MARINES!"

This has resulted in many great hot takes like this from Tom Nichols of The Atlantic, who thinks that no president has ever given a speech while members of the US military were around them - https://twitter.com/RadioFreeTom/sta...05953444859904

Resulting in threads like this -

    https://twitter.com/MuellerSheWrote/...07213984026625

Needless to say, it's kinda hilarious.

Now they'd have a point of Biden did this with lines of uniformed soldiers behind him intentionally placed there. But these were two ceremonial guards that would have been present regardless of the content of Biden's speech.

Once again, in the absense of a POTUS that's a nonstop controversy/scandal machine, many political writers/hosts are having to dig pretty deep to get their fix. It's just not the same when it's a FPOTUS that's getting his house raided by the FBI.

Fuck CNN, don't worry though, Trump supporters still think anyone left of Hitler watches CNN though. They even made a bullshit hashtag tonight calling Biden PedoHitler, even though Trump is the only one credible accused of pedophilia being best friends with Epstein, and Trump is clearly credibly accused of trying to turn this country into the rise of the 3rd Reich.

Another winner of a unemployment report.

Only thing republican maga'ts have now is "fake report".
Back to this old trump trick.

They all keep praying for more unemployment. How American of them huh?

    https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/02/augu...s-report-.html

Nonfarm payrolls rose by 315,000 jobs in August, just below the Dow Jones estimate for 318,000.
The unemployment rate rose to 3.7%, two-tenths of a percentage point higher than expectations.
Wages also rose, with average hourly earnings up 5.2% from a year ago, slightly lower than the estimate.
The biggest sector gainers were professional and business services, health care and retail.
    Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!

Biden declared war on fascism. Republicans and most of the DC media took it as a personal attack.

Watching the entire DC media basically being like "Dark Brandon is out of control, we need a responsible elder statesman like Donald Trump to take the helm" which is how I know the speech was good.

The best part is Obama had real scandals, like drone strikes on hospitals and the killing of American citizens abroad who had joined al Qaeda without due process, that the right just ignored those for the tan suits and dijon mustard. Because, of course, they agree with bombing brown people.

Also, dijon and brown mustard is far superior to yellow.

    Alliance

I, for one, appreciate yesterday's speech. Much like Hilary's "basket of deplorables" statement, I am all for racists, sexists, and fascists doing whatever they like to harm their chances of election or re-election. The last two election years were interesting, but this next one will be absolutely spectacular to watch at this rate.

Remember that time a few months into Trump's presidency when he went in front of Congress and gave a "normal" speech, and media across the board could not stop from gushing about how "he's finally grown into the role", "being in office seems to have matured him quickly" and all that other nonsense?

DC media are addicted to nonstop POTUS scandals. Period. They haven't been able to get their fix for at least a year - the last time they had a chance at it was the Afghanistan withdrawal - and a FPOTUS being involved in scandals where he may have provided classified materials to other countries, including potentially getting many intelligence assets killed in the process, just don't hit quite right. It doesn't give them their fix.

Apparently, calling out extremism makes "you" the extremist. This is why I generally don't give a fuck about broadcast news and especially Twitter.
