I think Texas passed that "dumb Constitutional carry BS," so is now part of the 26 or 27 states with constitutional carry as law. I haven't heard it being repealed.

As for whether "teachers didn't want the stress of carrying in school," I have read that it's up to the school district and according to some sources, something like 280/1022 or just under a third have done it. So some teachers don't mind the stress, even if the majority presumably don't for one reason or another.

Oh look, many districts require teachers to pass an accuracy test, a practical course, and numerous other measures before a teacher can carry in a school. Man, if only these rules were universal to all gun owners!

Not really relevant to the previous post, "teachers didn't want the stress of carrying in school." It also doesn't establish the existence of forcing teachers to undergo any test, much less present that as the norm. Furthermore, does not provide a source for which districts, if any, require any of the tests you posit, or whether they represent a majority. They aren't legally required.

Thanks for providing my point. You'd have done better not replying at all.

There are officers who cannot handle the stress of having to engage with someone with the use of their own firearm. I can absolutely understand if most teachers, who did not sign up to be armed protectors, find the idea uncomfortable and do not want to participate. If 2/3's of teachers are against it, or abstain from exercising their right to do so, then I think that is evidence that it was not a good idea.

It's not even 2/3 of teachers, it's 27%, so just over a quarter, of school districts have said this is an option available.

Sounds good to me. Should probably throw in annual psychological examinations too, just to be safe.

EDIT: Ope, mods are here, pretend I didn't say this.

The White House was asked if they had advance knowledge of Trump's indictment.

The response was "No. Why would we? It's a state case. We are the federal government. The federal government is not involved in running state cases. Can you imagine if a federal official tried to interfere with a state investigation? That would be all kinds of wrong. Even if it were to come from a House Committee."

When asked other questions about the Trump indictment, the White House responded "That's not something we're part of, you need to listen."

Biden approves California disaster declaration to aid with storm response

President Biden approved on Monday evening California’s request for a presidential major disaster declaration, boosting federal support as the state recovers from a string of severe storm systems.

Confirming “that a major disaster exists in the State of California,” the declaration will bring aid to state, tribal and local efforts in areas affected by wintry weather, straight-line winds, floods, landslides and mudslides since mid-February, according to the White House.

“This declaration brings in more vital resources as we continue to work in lockstep with local, state and federal partners to support communities that have been turned upside down by these storms,” Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said in a statement on Monday night, after receiving the approval.

The presidential proclamation will also make federal funding available to affected communities in the counties of Kern, Mariposa, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, Tulare, and Tuolumne, a statement from the White House said.

Assistance will come in the form of grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses to help individuals and business owners, the declaration stated.

Funding will also be available to eligible government entities and certain nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair of damaged facilities, according to the White House.

The declaration occurred in response to a request sent to the White House last week by Newsom, who described how conditions in his state “continued to deteriorate due to the winter storms and ongoing atmospheric river events.”

Now to wait to see a bunch of pearl clutching over how they don’t deserve it or it’s a waste or god knows what else from people who had no issues with that same relief going to Florida.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

Well that's because Florida is a good and proper conservative Republican state, not a godless socialist commie Democrat state like California, silly!

Reporter: Are you paying attention to the Trump indictment?

WH: No we are not. We're too busy running the free world and doing our jobs.

    "Was that an exact quote?"

    No, but this is:

The president’s going to focus on the American people like he does every day, this is not something that is a focus for him
I know how hard it is for the Trump cultists to believe that a political leader wouldn't be using their power in every waking moment to extract revenge, but President Biden is not a petty sociopathic narcisist. He has important things to do.

I hear he likes Jeni's. Dude has impressive taste. I think we have a video of that? Oh shit, it got infracted. Um, here's what he got a year ago:

It was salted peanut butter ice cream with chocolate flecks plus a scoop of blackout chocolate cake on a waffle cone.

    Nope.

I am also thinking of Pelosi. Biden did say Jeni's, he said it in that one video that one guy posted before he mysteriously vanished for the forums for some reason.
