When that’s disrupted people don’t engage with politics anymore, they just want change. And that change comes from a different, potentially better administration.

If Biden’s disapproval ratings continue to slowly drop, this next election is going to be very scary.

Fix it now. Who gives a fuck who gets upset. Win them voters back.
No interest in legislating based on people like you being ignorant bigots.

Do you think "signing the damn rule" wouldn't have resulted in a legal challenge or something? Because like...yes it absolutely would have resulted in the same legal challenge that would have stayed the order as it worked through the courts so literally nothing would have changed.

So "do it", get people even more excited, and then pull the rug out from under them so they're even more mad. That does not seem like a superior strategy. Sometimes, there's simply no good play, only varieties of less bad plays.

I don't think he is either, so we're in agreement on that. But this isn't a topic in which he could have "DONE SOMETHING" about it as again, the result would be the same.

He's getting murdered politically and "taking L's again" because sometimes the limitations of the office of the POTUS are very real and because honestly for all his failing he's doing a pretty fine job but fine just isn't sexy enough because he's not doing what I want him to do.

No disagreement here: The ruling is dogshit and the SCOTUS continues to undermine any credibility they have thanks to decades of successful strategy on behalf of the Republican party to groom activist conservative judges and fully politicize the SCOTUS. I think if Democrats had the votes (they never have) they should have expanded the court once more to restore balance. But most of these things are genuinely just, "things out of their control" because Republicans got to pull one over on them through decades of bad-faith actions.

I just wish folks would remember who the primary antagonists are.

O moresoe, the right sympathetic mods are out of school for the summer. And they're bored. Tormenting some users in their personal mmoc sandbox helps them pass the time.
Same for the trolls that only post here to express cruelty in attempts to gain attention.

Shitposting and snarking on my coffee breaks was fun and all. But mmoc just aint worth it. It's doubling down on the worst parts of reddit. mainly where site leadership has contempt for like 90% of their own users.

    Also, thanks Biden!

This is the unfortunate reality of many Americans. What do you tell them when they’re looking to Biden to fix this, only to be told “keep hanging in there, it will get better, remember who’s side you’re on!”

They’re not going to… and people aren’t going to see the greener pasture that they’re making when they’re currently sinking in their own. That’s when hands start coming down offering change, to give them a chance and to pull you out of your current situation.

People aren’t going to continue to worry about social issues and politics when this happens because what’s directly affecting them at that current moment is more dire (surviving).
And they then shill for the folks that hurt them.

    Looks hard to your posts.

It’s amazing how you can be so disingenuous and it’s your posting. This whole scree of yours here is nothing but the usual right wing drivel posted by concerned centrists.

Fuck off with that shit you uninformed bigot.

We aren’t going back and forth. You offer nothing to the conversation. You are an ignorant bigot and anything you say can be assumed false shown by your constant ignorance in these threads.

There’s no reality, just the fantasy you’ve shrouded yourself in to protect your bigoted malicious views.

People get optimistic, hopeful and then jump ship for something that may be better. It’s a gamble but it’s better than their current situation.

I don’t think that most Americans are engaged in politics and social issues as you think. I think most have a basic understanding, read some news articles, see some signs in their town, and then decide on who’s best for them right now.
Yeah, you and your average American ARE uninformed and selfish. Not the W take you think that is.

Also, which party has continually fought against minimum wage increases? Or is you having that knowledge asking asking too much from good, salt of the earth folk?

Re: the bolded part, people tend to bring up foreign aid a lot (always in a negative light), but ALL (so not just Ukraine, any/all anywhere) of the US's foreign aid is at or less than 1% of the total US yearly budget. So, percentage-wise any foreign aid is 1% vs 99% which is our domestic budget.

It's wild how people gravitate towards some of the absolute worst sources of accurate information and then keep repeating it, and that those sources are so consistently shilling right wing talking points.

I'll not shed any tears of Mitt Romney is offended by my comments while he continues to remain in the party of liars, grifters, bigots, and literal nazis.

Anyways, back to talking about how Bidenomics has gone from an attempted conservative attack to blowing up in their faces as it's now a positive thing that he has embraced rofl.

Completely unsurprised to see the same poster going "OMG BIDEN" about something that's not Biden's fault--and not even particularly the fault of the Democrats, but rather a decision by a heavily GOP-biased SCOTUS. I mean it's not like they haven't been making the same "OMG BIDEN/DEMS" posts over every issue for the past couple years. Why are people still treating their nonsense as if it's worthy of a conversation? That's the real mystery. "Just do it!" he says. FML.

Also not shocked to see the "totally hard-working for 20 years" Shrew apparently has plenty of time to post yet more dipshittery and continue their track record of GOP talking points despite being "totally a Dem-voter gais!" I guess the rest of Shitty Voltron is lagging behind today.

This result was inevitable with the current make up of SCOTUS and expanding the court is a stupid idea precisely for the reason Biden gave: if they do it now it just gets done again when the GOP regain control and becomes yet another stupid legislative/judicial arms race without end. It would also be unlikely to happen given the narrow Senate majority with at least two Senators ostensibly on the Dems' side who vote against them half the time and the fact that it would also have to pass the House. Nonstarter.
