Honestly, I'm not even surprised. For some godforsaken reason, this appears to be an actual thing, for various game developers, where women are treated like trash.

In the end, this will sting Blizzard a little bit. And I mean a little bit. They lose some revenue, maybe some people, but people will forget all about it soon enough. If anyone cared enough to begin with.

I'm not a liberty to disclose that information, especially with a lawsuit starting, until the lawsuit is over I can't divulge that information.

They have already started the PR Damage Control days ago ... go look at their Facebook page, if you remove the Summer Sale posts, its two posts in a row talking about inclusion and being fair with female employees.

They have a lot of experience with retconning their games, so not surprising they're trying with RL stuff too.

It’s incredibly hard to believe that even if they weren’t in on it they didn’t atleast know about it and the fact that apparently no action was taken until 2020 is even more damning.

The same thing happened with riot a few years back and had pretty much no impact so it’s likely to blow over as you said just
    Like it did for them.

did Riot actually improve? if Activision-Blizzard make genuine efforts to change the culture then at least they're making steps in the right direction

Why do people get worked up over things like this?

14 years in the same place is A VERY VERY L O N G TIME..

Here in Denmark, ON AVERAGE, 24% of the work force, change to a new company, every single year.
I.e. that means that average time people stay in the same company is 4 years and 2 months.
Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > BfA > WoD = WotLK

So basically Afrasiabi removed flying so that females would not be able to escape an ambush.

I'm genuinely disappointed at the moderators for closing down all the threads about the ActiBlizz lawsuit. The excuse that it 'veers into forbidden topics' is pathetic. If that happens then just delete the damn posts, because what you're doing now looks a lot like covering up for some unforgivable behaviour, even if that's not your intention.

What is wrong with being a creep? Also you never get better at something unless to keep doing it aka practice

Something else that was weird in the document.

They single handed my named Afrasabi, but referred to every other Blizzard person talked about by their title only, such as “supervisor”.

    Kind of weird no?

Bring back Swifty's NPC Blizzard. The only thing worse than a creep is a hypocrite.

Honestly i think you can sue every single IT company in the world because of that. And they should.

I myself work in an IT company. Everytime i hear about a women applying i talk to her and tell her she should think hard about doing that to herself because i would not like to have anyone be under so much fire. I basically warn her. Every women who ever worked her left after a few months because she got bullied and disregarded in every way.

If you do something wrong as a women it is 10 times as bad as when you do the same as a man in IT.
You get the shit stuff because you are a women and can't do anything anyway.
Gener misogony is raging. In every IT job i have ever worked in. Rape jokes. Condescending assholes. Mansplaining.
Coupled with the internet-fueled opinions of general IT employees you get a working environment for women that is really bad.

It gets better the higher up you go but not good.

Ironically every IT company is searching for new employees all the time. But just disregard 50% of the population and making the job completly unattractive for them.

Probably because Afrasabi already left Blizzard, while said supervisors are still working there.

I wonder why Afrasabi's office is called "Crosby suite" and the document speaks of "Bill Crosby" when it should be Cosby?

    @MrLachyG

They did all their PR, they made token changes, then a few months later went to multiple counter-suits to set precedent to make it possible to sue employees for future whistleblowing. The judges repeatedly dismissed those suits and now, after several years, some employees have expressed that it feels like change is starting. I doubt that would have occurred had Riot not been forced to accept that their employees are legally allowed to air their grievances.

Though, that it was ever in question, is a distinctly American work culture problem. Civilised countries have workers rights and protections by default with socialised access to ombudsmen and tribunals for violations of workers rights. And you can't, generally, be asked to waiver your rights as they're enshrined in law.

That section is a bit misleading. The "Cosby (sic*) Suite" was a room at the (I think) Marriott during BlizzCon that was named for the random framed portrait of Bill Cosby that was in the room. It was where the (all male, very drunk) senior WoW team afterparty was held. This was all the way back at, I think roughly, BlizzCon '09 - '11. (I know Ghostcrawler was there so it would have been before MoP). This well predates the major publicity of the Cosby offences which went mainstream in 2014. So the lawsuit, whilst undeniably evidenced in multiple point and should definitely be taken seriously as a matter of Blizzard very culture, does egg it up a bit in that section.

Though, for all I/we know, what started as a reasonable (admittedly, still distinctly "frat boy"-esque) situation could have come to represent something much more insidious off-camera. I don't doubt for a second that BlizzCon was a major opportunity for some developers to "closely connect" with their (probably swept up in the excitement, grandeur and a few drinks) "community". Some of that is probably fair game. Some of it definitely crosses into abuse of power territory. And in a 6000 person party environment, I'm not even going to hesitate to say some bad shit goes down every BlizzCon for some people.

Is there any proof that Afriasabi, Morhaime, Kaplan are the subject of these lawsuits? Or just base speculation?

I thought Afriasabi was still working at Blizz anyways, lead of pvp or something. Wait nm, that's Holinka, always confuse them.
