If you want to follow the story do the story. If you understand all quests are just exp to get you to max then do threads of fate. First thing go to each zone and get their story quest (it's just a bar you'll fill doing stuff in the zone including dungeons.) So that way you can queue for dungeons and have them all count towards one of the quests.

Plus threads of fate lets you get started on Anima early. And you can focus on the gear you want instead of having to wait for the right quest to offer it.
    I'm a thread killer.

For how long it took for them to do anything with WoD's intro, I doubt it.

    Don't recall it that way.
I actually don't know when the skip was implemented, but according to the comments on wowhead it's been in the game as early as 6.0.3, maybe even earlier. That would mean, that it was indeed available at or close to launch of WoD.

although using it to skip the intro was only useful after you could fly. The skip brings you out in gorgrond and getting back to the start of the garrison took a long time without actually getting any XP. Only flying made that interesting.

in that way... currently Threads of Fate might not be very efficient currently, but will be more attractive later on...

Do dungeons award anima as well with it during levelling?

That is correct. But with a water walking mount you could at least go somewhere

Ikr? Fucking annoying, clicking here, riding that npc, click that thing, blablabla.... I mean, it's nice and ok if it's sprinkled in here and there, but not having it at every turn. Boooring.

I have only played an alt for a little bit so far, but I'm not sure I like this method. Doing the same story quests over and over certainly isn't engaging, but this alternative feels incredibly mindless and repetitive. There is at least structure when you do a quest chain; this just feels like an arbitrary obligation.

People complaining about long story and interaction with NPCs in an RPG game, now I've seen everything. Also Blizzard has given you the choice to do it either way, no need to fight over what's better when you have both options served on a plate.

Next up, leveling option where you can fight your way through the zones with a rifle straight out of CoD, Activision-Blizzaed crossover yo.

Normally, opening scenario isn't skippable for a bit. It will be skippable at some point.

I don't see anyone complaining about the storyline. I see them complaining about how repetitive it gets after the first go-around.

The first time through the RP, voice acting, and everything else was great. Second through fifth time through? Less so. It's like watching a movie over and over again.

This expansion alts are even more needed than normal, since you need at least four characters to see the full story through the different convenants. Making it less repetitive to go through the story for those alts is a good thing, since you've already done it.

I think I'll level my alts through Bastion as it's the fastest zone to level through, and the first half of Maldraxxus, then I'll activate Threads of Fate. Much as I like Revendreth as a zone and theme, the actual leveling there is loooooong.

And yes, please, let us skip the Maw intro.

you literally could not skip any scenarios jsut days into any expansion. stop the lies

The story is fine, the unskippable SLOW AS FUCK talking and walking around is absolutely not great, good, or even mediocre. Made the campaign take twice as long as the actual content.
It's a real shame that blizzard thought releasing content so painfully slow they had to add an option to skip it was a good idea, especially since the story itself is fairly compelling.

Completed all of Bastion quests on my paladin and quickly decided only to follow the story campaign from Maldraxxus and out. I was mid lvl 55 when leaving Bastion, so story questing took me to 60.

On my alt now I decided to try treads of time and picked Necrolords and im going to do all quests there and more. Will see how it goes.

Cant be bothered repeating all the story again.

Your memory might fail you. You could skip BfA and Legion once you completed it once. And same for WoD, although that was not really useful. So please don't call someone a liar without reason. I really, really can't stand that.

Apparently the fastest thing to do is spam the same four dungeons repeatedly, and it doesn't sound fun. Also choosing a Covenant at 50 means you can't try out each set of abilities, it would make more sense to me if you got the appropriate abilities when you visited each zone. I think for my Alts the plan is to follow the Campaign, and then at 59.5 turn on Threads of Fate so I don't have to finish the Campaign to play endgame.

Also the Maw intro is hell, slow and you can't even skip half it. Escort NPC's, click and drag shards at 90% reduced movement, listen to walls of dialogue. I've done it once, doing it twice was tab out practice. Just add a skip, I don't remember moving so slowly whilst grabbing the Helm shards the first time. Ugh.

You can try them out on training dummies in Oribos- you ask the covenant you're interested in for a chance to try them.
