I beleive the mythic raids should be tuned so they are not cleared in a week, it should take a month at least to bring down the end boss of each tier and most raiders are almost in mythic ilvl loot anyway so they are doing the content in almost the gear it rewards currently.
Can you guys already go back playing classic? Ah wait, it is dead due to how long it takes to gear, and how unrewarding raids are.

In WoW long-term gearing is not working anymore, since you have a new raiding tier every 3-4 months. When people step in the raid, they expected, challenge AND rewards for that. Meanwhile, it can take u weeks to clear CN on mythic difficulty, and with current loot system u will be crazy lucky to get more than 2-3 items from the raid

Loot is STINGY i will give you that.

After two resets I have cleared normal twice and killed 6/10 heroic bosses and received the total of 1 piece of loot from it all.

I dont remember loot being this scarce since I started playing this game in early Cataclysm.

Instead of being done after a month I have a reason to keep going other than just spending some time with my guild.

I thought loot was supposed to be more scarce this expansion..

Actually, running the raid 3-4-5 times without getting a single item is way more boring.

That doesn't even include a guaranteed item from the Great Vault.
I did 10 mythics this reset, got 1 item. A ring with the wrong stats. Did 9/10 HC CN, got one item, a cloak, 6ilvls upgrade I think. The weekly quest loot also gave me a ring with wrong stats. I wouldnt mind a bonus roll

I just ran all of CN and got ONE item, which of course, was an item I already had. That plus the bad itemization overall in CN, makes it feels like the time spent raiding is sorta wasted.

I fear that despite Castle Nathria being a good raid with fun bosses and a nice aesthetic, players will become frustrated with the raid simply because of the lacklusterness in character progression.
This is such a good change seriously. Getting showered in epics was really fucking stupid to begin with. Finally it feels good again to get something.

I personally prefer SL gearing system way more than both BfA's and Legions (which btw, felt shitty too if you got the short end of the RNG stick). In SL it feels a lot less casino and a lot more meaningful, the Vault has offered me decent options thus far but I'm under no illusion that I will always get an upgrade to pick from it, and I'm okay with that. I like how PvP activity is providing a meaningful, targetable and decent path for gearing too, to fill in those slots where I haven't gotten any drops yet.

All in all I've gotten useful gear upgrades through ALL venues of the game so far. I've gotten gear that I can use from M+, from NM, from HC, from PvP and from the Great Vault.

Sounds a lot like getting the short end of the RNG stick. Sorry to hear that, I do know what that feels like all too well. However, with time it should even out.
Just a question, do you run with a fixed m+ group and raid? Some of my upgrades these past 2 weeks have come from people trading loot to me, and I am now in a position myself where I am able to trade loot I don't need to others. Esp in m+

Its almost as if they cant decide a middle way of loot-distribution.

You play the game to build and improve your character, not to run through 2 full raids without a single piece of upgrade.

  11. #31
Good idea. You will get what you want anyway, but slower.

Bring back bonus rolls, it was exciting to have a chance to get another piece of loot.

Man, that sounds incredibly unlucky. Jesus Christ.
Cleared normal twice, got 2 drops the first time and 2 the next time. Including a piece through getting traded the loot the second normal run. Killed 2 HC bosses this week, got 1 drop.

Yeah, both the raid and the mythic +s were with the guild. I play disc priest and we didnt cloth stack for the mythics +. think I had a mage one or two times and another priest on my last run, he got a dagger which he traded to me but that's besides the point tbh. Yeah I hope it evens out in the long run but even then, the gear from the runs will be obsolete in like 2 or 3 weeks since its below hc raid

The only bad idea they had, was to reduce the loot drops, while still being stupid regarding keeping only Personal loot.
They should bring back Master Looter for raids. It's beyond idiotic that ilevel should ever be the determining factor if I can trade something or not.

We cannot. Good pitch, glad we had this chat.

Agree. Had a M+ drop the the other day. Dup item but the one I had had a socket so was far superior over a like +3 ilvl. Couldn't trade it to anyone and vendored, fucking waste of a loot drop for the group.

From what I gather here, people have been really lucky with bonus rolls the last expansions. from the 3 weekly bonus rolls, i usually got jack shit (disappointing amount of gold, borrowed power, or if an item decided to drop it was the wrong one). I for one like the new system, at least now you have the chance for getting an actual item, and you even get to choose from a list that potentially contains an upgrade. I really don't see how you prefer the massive rng of bonus rolls against the certainty of an item.
And those with the pink goggels thinking back to wotlk/cata, 2 loot pieces dropping for 10 man, 4 for 25, it's not like a raid guaranteed you an item back then either, and this was pre-bonus-rolls.
RNG has been and will always be RNG, at least with the great vault they took a step back and give you choice.

i love the loot in SL. feels really good when you get an upgrade and the vault is a giant leap forward.

Be assured that Blizz is gonna makes changes here. There's nothing more useless and boring than rekilling bosses that you can't expect any loot from anymore (in contrast to when titanforging existed) and it is going to become the new normal that people just queue for a certain boss and leave afterwards, pretty much what we had been seeing in m0 in the first week. My prediction is that bonus rolls are gonna come back with the next patch.

It's rather funny that your post kinda contradicts the shitstorm blizz got over the last few years.
soneone else already pointed out that the wow community asked for epics to mean something again, and that loot shouldn't be given away like candy. which is what blizz has done now. and rekilling bosses for a 'chance' on loot and the sheer sense of progression is what made people play wow, the sense of achievement/accomplishment (what the classic people were talking about). If everyone would get bis geared the first week, now that would be boring.
It seems they will never be able to please everyone, but at least they listened to the community and acted upon it.
