But what's even funnier is people who think the Black Lives Matters protests, which existed to expose and protest police brutality, were apparently linked to socialists? I dunno man, you're twisting yourself into something far beyond a pretzel trying to slap some kind of "GOTCHA" onto the left.

Fact is, the right is failing, it is fighting among itself, it lost bigly in the election, Trump is a criminal and a traitor, many Republican officials are criminals and traitors. The rules haven't been significantly updated for decades and the push to change them to tackle tax evasion has been a very recent thing. Obama signed the US up onto the BEPS reform process during the tail end of his tenure but that's about it. His adminstration had little input into the process because the work was primarily done during the Trump admininstration, and they fought against it. So no, the democrats didn't try and fail, they didn't have the opportunity to do so.

I voted for Sanders in the primary. Voting for Sanders in the general would have been flushing my vote down the toilet. Same with any other social Democrat. And it would have effectively ensured another 4 years of Trump. I have no need to prepare for civil war. The right has already lost a civil war. And it's been losing ever since.
