It's pretty warranted given they were willing to commit a federal crimes for their dear leader, it's cognitive dissonance. They are protesting saying more people voted for Trump than reality when they didn't even bother themselves.

I should hope that no sane judge would let someone charged with a felony go to another country.

Is it a felony now? Last night the USA Today article only showed Cudd being charged with 2 misdemeanors.

    Good.

AOC nails it in describing why it is important to America to stand up to these creeps.

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/202...tail=emaildkre

Title: AOC gets honest about why she thinks some Republicans want people to just move on from Capitol riots

    Excerpt:

“These folks that tell us to move on, that it’s not a big deal, that we should forget what’s happened or even telling us to apologize ... These are the same tactics as abusers,” Ocasio-Cortez pointed out. Here she referenced being a survivor of sexual assault, and, as examples of other forms of abuse, brought up that other survivors of trauma may have survived a neglectful parent, verbal abuse, or “small to large” forms of trauma throughout their lives. She stressed there’s not just “one really big thing happening to you.”

The progressive Democrat explained that “trauma compounds on each other” and that “most people live with trauma.” She continued, “There is a community of so many people that can understand,” and stressed that many people are survivors of some degree of trauma, which is not to diminish anyone’s trauma, but rather to connect individuals. She also pointed out we still don’t know how many people will come out of the insurgency with PTSD down the road.

“This is not about a difference of political opinion,” she argued in reference to accountability. “This is about basic humanity.”
These people are dangerous. They must be defeated. They are doubling down on their insanity, which means we have to double down on defeating them.

That's not really a relevant argument when talking about people who were so much behind one of those two choices that they were willing to revolt against the government over their choice losing, yet didn't even put in the effort to vote for it in the first place.

Fuck no. You don't vote, you don't get to complain. No matter what state. Because as Georgia has shown, every state is technically up for grabs.

How the hell is this an argument? What if there are 100 choices and all 100 are terrible?

I was gonna respond with a typical "if you don't care enough to do the bare minimum and vote, you don't care enough to complain" response when you first posted this, but thought better of it given that we're talking about the USA, and systemic voter disenfranchisement is still an ongoing process there; if you're struggling to get by and voting means taking a day off without pay and spending that entire day waiting in a lineup, a lot of the most vulnerable will have to choose survival over voting, and I won't suggest they're making the wrong choice or that doing so should exclude their voices.

    I changed my mind and chose to post anyway, with that disclaimer, largely because of this next post which concretely underlines the opinion my original kneejerk was about;

There are always other parties to vote for. Further, if you really care and you're really upset by your options, you could choose to get involved, and consider doing more than the absolute bare minimum of voting. Help campaign. Work with a candidate to help shape policy. Run for office yourself, under whatever banner you like.

Of course, those take effort, and the reality is that a lot of people want to spend their effort on complaining, not on actually fixing anything.

People should put more focus on the primaries then. A small fraction of voters even bother to vote in primaries and then whine that they have two shitty choices in November. It's obnoxious and anti-democratic. If you don't like what other people chose then fucking vote.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

Except, the people who stormed the fucking Capitol Building didn't hate both choices, they simply didn't like that their guy lost. That makes the fact that they didn't vote rather ironic.

Oh, and there were more than two choices.
