Not a bad issue to campaign on: Democrats, the party of accountability.

We might get Romney, that might be it. And even then we might not get Manchin and Sinema.

Fuck that. These asshats all knew exactly what they were doing. They did this because they're violent, shitty, abusive people, not because of mental illness or diminished capacity.
Watching him right now on Cuomo. Yup this is what he want's to establish, except he's admitted he's had no psych eval on this dude, it really just sound like after talking to him a bunch, he's just concluded this shaman guy and the rest are just idiots. Apparently you don't like reality either, as the damage isn't in the billions and most of the deaths were either caused by white supremacists who decided to incite riots in an attempt to frame BLM as being pro-violence or were just people who happened to die in the general vicinity of a riot (regardless whether or not their death had anything to do with the riot).

Now do you have any substantive evidence to support any of your claims? Anything on the level of "they fed the ballots to chickens then incinerated the chickens" or "bamboo on the ballots" will be dismissed out of hand, because I don't entertain ludicrous conspiracy theories that violate the forum rules.

I'll make a bet on my judgement that you'll only be able to substantiate evidence for some property damage, while failing to substantiate any of the other claims. Now if you don't do that then I'll just go with option two; you aren't invested enough in the value of your own opinion to bother backing it up. If the former, the loss of money due to property damage in pretty inconsequential in the scheme of police budgets and if the latter...well that just tells me that you don't think your own opinion has any value. If you don't value your own opinions, I fail to see why anyone else should.

It's honestly sad all these Republican congressmen have to try and paint the Insurrection as no big deal while photos of that actual event showed them barricading the doors and obviously fearing for their lives... all because they know their base has aligned with the insurrectionists and the cult will cast them out the very moment they go against it. Honestly feels no different than an abusive relationship they have going.

I ran out of pity for any of these feckless goons long ago. People have suffered and, in the case of the insurrection, died due to the GOPs lack of spine.

The disintegration of their party can’t come swiftly enough. Democrats really, really need to push those national election protection reforms. Fairer elections with more people voting in more equitably drawn districts will basically spell the end of the GOP on a national level. A few consecutive democrat presidencies is what we need to get this country back into shape.

    "Unhinged zealotry" is particularly cute.

Which party literally presented a golden idol of their leader at a major convention, again?

    Unironically, I might add.

Honestly, it's almost better that McMuffin isn't going to have his hands in it. What he's missing on this is that by not getting the Senate in on the investigation, he won't be able to control any part of it.

Good point. Frankly, I'm shocked that the GOP is passing on being a full fledged participant of this investigation. McConnell is effectively taking himself out of the driver's seat.

What kind of power would a committee have? Will it just be anything more than wagging of fingers? I can see the GOP just ignoring any conclusion out of hand because 'the democrats are all corrupt and lying, so pay no attention to the evidence in the report'.

I am pretty sure the play is spin it like yet another impeachment of trump blah blah blah the dems are being mean. Sad thing it probably is the right play for them politically because if we were in any sane time frame all the events around jan 6th would already be a death blow for them and there is basically no way treating it seriously and soberly works well for the GOP so they are just going to go full gaslight mode and hope for the best.

it would in theory have full benghazi like subpeona powers and now with the DOJ not under trumps control they may actually be enforceable.

It would have the exact power as what they are proposing. What they are proposing is ideal because GoP crying "partisan witch hunt" doesn't stick as much, since it would be completely bipartisan with no politicans on the committee. But tbh, a non insignifican would be crying "partisan witch hunt" anyways, cause reality doesn't matter to these people, so I don't think Dem's really lose anything by just going forward with plan B.

And yet, literally everyone I have seen that is crying and screaming like children, have been Republicans, since they didn't win the election. They are just going to take their ball and go home, just like you admitted here.

And you saying we aren't the good guys, while everyone in the world has a better favorability of Biden than they did Trump, and everything doing so much better under Biden than Trump, yeah, we are the good guys.
