I love the eagerness of Americans and their desire to overshare. I have caught myself on more than one occasion posting more about myself than I should on this site.

It's weird how important even mundane information can be when constructing profiles. Locations are obviously a big one, but even shopping habits, word usage, and photos of other things are huge.

The two that people never seem to think about are using the same username on multiple platforms, and the web of their friends and contact lists on platforms. It's astounding how many people are "friends" with their burner accounts they use to spread their bullshit propaganda, and how often those accounts can easily be linked to real names. On Facebook, if you see a troll account, simply checking the url will often give the real name. Otherwise, checking their friends list, or the friends of those friends will almost always yield results. They want someone they are personally friends with to know that they are both accounts.

    Thank you for this.

This crushes Trump's attempt to lie, about the deployment of the National Guard. There will be no revising the actions of Trump, nobody with any clout is ging to cover for him.

His administration will go down in flames, and the GOP were always going to jump ship once they knew he had nothing else to offer.

Edit: One thing to note from this... he was called by the Secretary of the Army. this was the military's showing they will get involved in political issues when the need arises.

Though information is limited, the more that comes out the more it seems as though either Trump, or someone high in the Pentagon, was intentionally denying protection to the senators.
Sylvanas didn't even win the popular vote, she was elected by an indirect election of representatives. #NotMyWarchief

the list of people that it could have been is very, very limited. Since Pence was in the building, as was Congress... it would have only been Trump, his Chief of Staff, or the person holding Trump's cell phone. There's no doubt Pence and/or his men called Trump directly, so the list of people who denied the deployment is... basically just Trump.

Remember how pissed of Pence was when they reconvened? It would appear we know why... Trump just endangered Pence's life to save the last two weeks of his fucking career.

Check this out, too: "Subsequent reporting has suggested that acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller “consulted” with Pence on the matter, along with senior congressional leadership.

But even that still raises questions, given that Pence lacks any statutory authority over the military and that President Trump remains commander-in-chief.

Dr. Lindsay Cohn, an associate professor at the Naval War College and an expert in civil-military relations, told TPM that while Pence being consulted didn’t implicate any chain of command issues, it did reflect a “leadership vacuum.”

“The inference that I would draw is that the President was not interested in being involved in that discussion at all,” Cohn said. “That’s consistent with the overall lack of planning that we saw – there seems to have been an overall lack of leadership from the White House on planing and preparation for this, for what we all consider to have been a fairly predictable day of unrest.”

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, along with congressional leadership, asked the Pentagon to approve a request to activate the D.C. National Guard on Wednesday before receiving an initial refusal."

This is all going to come out over the next few months, including media interviews. There may be congressional hearings (I think there's no doubt they will happen), and the story of who was making what calls to whom will be fully discussed. Let's not forget, every fucking one of these GOP congressmen and Pence were complicit, until their asses were on the line. Every. Fucking. One.

Congressmen and Pence were frantically making calls, and were being rebuffed By the administration. At some point, the chain of command broke down, and they simply decided to act on their own in the face of that vacuum of leadership. Since Pence was one of those people, and eventually got them to go forward with the deployment... that only leaves one man to be the problem.

Fuck Trump, he's a shitty Nazi.

I don't think it was to save the last two weeks of his career.

I apologize for this ahead of time if it is against the rules but knowing Trump, and the fact he does try to act like a mob boss, he tried to use the crowd to kill Pence and most of his political enemies knowing full well how violent that his supporters can be because those people went against him. He told them to do it, he removed himself from the area, he watched it on TV, he was ecstatic when they broke in and purposefully refused to call the National Guard(rumored).

But in typical Trumpian fashion, not only did it backfire and basically ruined the small chance at him being a free man for rest of his life(he most assuredly is going to prison for a multitude of crimes pertaining to this), but took out his family(there was a chance of this happening but far greater now), took out the GOP for years to come and, in a not so cruel fate, ruined hundreds(maybe thousands or more) of his supporters lives by make his supporters now hated and a recognized terrorist group.

There will be an investigation, because Congressmen were genuinely scared for their lives, and the Dems control Congress. The Sergeant-at-arms and the head of the Capitol Police are already gone, and more heads will roll.

I'd love to see Trump called to testify before Pelosi and Congress in 4 months time.

Anybody who is still a Trump supporter should be ashamed of themselves. Because of Trump's Yesterday actions a Police Officer died and ignored calls from the Mayor to deploy the national guard.

Trump needs to be impeached with no pardon immediately.

If/when that death turns out to qualify as murder, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean that, via the felony murder rule, literally everyone who walked inside the Capitol with the rioters could be charged and convicted of murder, just by having their presence inside confirmed?

That is correct. Felony Murder means that if you partake in a crime, in any way, shape or form that ends in the death of someone, even if you don't kill them yourself, you will get charged as if you killed them yourself.

    §2381. Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

The important bit is the part I put in bold.

Treason has to involve either outright war against the USA (not just domestic terror attacks), or working on behalf of the USA's enemies and supporting their cause (not a factor in a domestic concern).

The architects of the Civil War were traitors because they actually levied war against the USA, and the Confederacy was an enemy to the United States, both.

These chucklefucks aren't (ostensibly, at least) working for another entity, they're trying to "save their country". Their actions also don't remotely qualify as a "war".

Which isn't to say they're innocent. I'm quibbling over semantics. They're seditionists and insurrectionists. Those are also crimes.

    §2383. Rebellion or insurrection
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

    §2384. Seditious conspiracy
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

It's a small distinction, but one that matters. Don't give the MAGA nuts the semantic excuse of being technically correct on the particular flavor of crime they're committing.
There's also a fair legal argument that the confederates wernt treasonus as the confederacy wasn't recognised internally or internationally by any real powers as a separate state from the USA, though the confederates were desperate to get that recognition.

Similarity reasons why those who went and joined isis arnt done for treason, because legally the Islamic state was never recognised as a state.

However, the US government did declare war on any group that is labeled a terrorist group. So in a stretch(and this is a long stretch), they could name these people terrorists and that could be their justification. Not sure how that would play out though.
