You are missing the point. He is a king. Attraction has nothing to do with royal weddings. Strategy does. Anduin isn't some 3rd son if a blacksmith. He is the ruler of the free world. If his father was alive then he would have picked his wife.

Taelia is nobility, her father's legacy stands above all other nobility in Stormwind and beyond. The Stormwind house of nobles can't make him do anything and he can't force Jaina to marry him. This isn't game of thrones there is no background noise other then Genn who weakly tried push him to wed his daughter and failed when Anduin told him no.
