    I've had a weird thought.

Why is Jimmy Woo even here?

    Spoiler:
He's FBI. SWORD would have jurisdiction and would just tell the silly FBI guy to go home. Nobody's even tried.

Jimmy was super clued in to a whole lotta stuff, and was a big source of exposition in the last episode. Moreso than the SWORD specialists. Huh?

None of his time with Scott Lang would explain this. He was just some FBI guy keeping an eye on a powerless ex-felon, not a SHIELD agent.

He's really on the ball, but he hasn't been doing a lot, either in Ant-man or now.

Out-of-left-Park theory; since there was a lot of fun MCU theorization that Stan Lee's cameos were actually Uatu, the Watcher, keeping an eye on everything, what if Uatu passed on/retired with Stan Lee's death? What if Jimmy Woo is the face of the new Watcher, one who likes to get into things a bit more?

Or something similar, like the Chronicom anthropologist Enoch in Agents of SHIELD.

Whatever the explanation, I don't think Jimmy Woo makes any goddamned sense in here. And I suspect that's the big secret they're trying to slip past everyone.

There's too many direct links between AoS and the MCU for even Feige to deny them completely. And, honestly, he doesn't lose anything by including them. Most of the links between the TV and Films really only travel one way...as in the TV shows are affected by the events in the films...but the films aren't really affected by the events in the TV shows. An exception would be the Helicarrier that appears at the end of Age of Ultron...but that's really just bonus background information.

Woo is Ex-SHIELD. Probably joined the FBI after the Collapse of SHIELD in Winter Soldier.

Also the fact that Woo is investigating his missing person's case that led him there. His case isn't completed and he has not yet been dismissed by his superiors to our knowledge.

And we still don't know who that missing person is...only that they were in Witness Protection. S.W.O.R.D. was only brought in originally because of a tech request.

And at this point Jimmy Woo has already seen too much. If he hasn't already been transferred into S.W.O.R.D....he will be soon. Being a former SHIELD Agent certainly speaks to his qualifications.

I did mention that in the post. Did you not fully read it? Sometimes rumors can spread fast, especially in the era of social media.

So which late 80's / 90's sitcom do you guys reckon episode 6 will base its intro theme on? Considering around this time, dysfunctional family sitcoms started to break through with shows like The Simpsons and Married with Children, do you reckon one along those lines will be it? It could represent Wanda starting to lose control over the reality (if she had full control over it in the first place) as the trailers seem to hint at.

My friends and I have been speculating that what if SWORD had taken Vision's body without the knowledge of the Avengers and Wanda got wind of it once she is snapped back? Then shows up, finds out it's so much *worse* than she thought it was, and loses her shit and this is the result?

So what Thor just sent Darcy a text saying "yeah Wanda came close but Cap'n Marvel came closer".

A dumb lines a dumb line. Think it just served as a Segue into getting Rambeau talking about Danvers.

Just because I like an actor doesn't mean I won't poke fun at them.

No, they were either debriefed or there was surveillance footage of the battle. Why is this so hard for you?

    Caught up today.

Episode 4 was a bit too much of an exposition dump for my taste, but they did it about as well as a "clip show explainer episode" could, I suppose. Nice "Voodoo Child" outro, too.

Episode 5 had some nice tension. At times this feels like an Adult Swim Infomercials skit.

I suppose the twist indicates that they might be doing some sort of a reverse M-Day storyline to tie the X-Men film universe into the MCU? I hadn't considered that possibility before, but it'd be pretty clever.

    I mean, I'd just say Darcy's wrong.

    Carol punched Thanos a bit.

Wanda made Thanos panic so badly he shelled his entire army just to get her off him, because if he hadn't, she was literally going to tear him into literal pieces. Their confrontation wasn't even a contest; Wanda was entirely his superior in every way and it wasn't even close. He got one real shot in, and she just smirked at him and started to tear him apart.

It really depends on where Pietro came from. If he came from the X-men universe, and will retain memories of his life there, that's House of M type craziness. He could just be some regular guy who was in the town when this all started, one of the hostages, who's been "cast" in this role because they had to use SOMEONE who was already in there. It may just be an easter egg for the fans, not ACTUALLY the Quicksilver from the other universe.

Gotta wait till next week when that'll probably get answered for us.

Come now. You went way off the reservation with the Agent Woo stuff, but want to think it's possible that this wasn't a deliberate casting/story choice? I can't imagine a world where this is just something like "Chris Evans played two different characters in two different Marvel properties"...seeing as Peters played a different version of the same character in another Marvel property. One that just happens to have been recently acquired by the people in charge of the MCU.

I was deliberately going way out on the Woo stuff, it just struck me as odd, particularly with how dialed-in he was last episode.

It's absolutely a deliberate casting choice, the question is whether they cast Evan Peters as an in-joke/easter egg/distraction, or if they're actually pulling the two universes together here. It COULD be either, and I'm not in any way arguing against the idea that they're uniting the universes, considering this is meant to play into Dr. Strange and Multiverse of Madness.

I'm just saying they CAN toss stuff like that in as a red herring.

Let's recall Chris Evans has been two major characters in the Marvel disparate film universes, himself. Steve Rogers in the MCU, and Johnny Storm in 2 Fantastic Four films.

This is less me arguing against the possibility, and just noting that there ARE other possibilities, just so people don't put all their eggs in one basket and then throw a tantrum if it turns out to be something else.

I mean...there are other possibilities that don't involve ZOMGX-MENMOVIESARENOWMCUCANON!!! and honestly I don't expect them to just import that franchise directly into whatever they're planning going forward. That would be a huge mess.

But I specifically brought up Evans' two characters because it is a somewhat similar situation...except that he didn't end up playing another version of Johnny Storm in the MCU who just happened to show up in a TV show about Reed Richards, or something.

Just the acknowledgement that the two universes now exist in the same multiverse is enough for me. I did just read Endus' explanation and it could very well be a regular town folk, didn't really think of that. Just figured they wouldn't use him specifically if it were that because they knew of the implications of using that specific actor for the part.

I'm diggin' this story a lot. The buildup is great, and these twist endings are awesome.

Plus Evan Peters just has the quippy charm that Pietro has, then again we never got to see the other Pietro develop at all really.

Just in case i covered it up.

Just throwing it out there that there has been much talk about how Wandavision is meant to be the bridge between the previously existing MCU and the X-Men universe to bring the X-Men INTO the MCU in future endeavors such as phase 4. Wanda is already set to make a major appearance in the Dr Strange 2 movie which Wandavision is supposed to set up the story for DS2. And for those curious, Wandavision is also doing a retcon on how Monica Rambeau (aka Spectrum; aka Captain Marvel circa 1982) got her powers from Wanda/Scarlet Witch instead of being exposed to extra-dimensional energy. You can see this being foreshadowed by the "blank" imaging she had done in this week's episode.

Well, Disney owns Fox now, and Feige confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be the first R-rated MCU movie while doing press for WandaVision. That basically confirms that they're explicitly bridging the universes.

It would absolutely make sense for this to be a backdoor for that. Perhaps just the first of many. There's also potential time travel shenanigans both within "the Hex" and with other MCU projects.

Since Quicksilver looks same as he looked in Dark Phoenix (it was 1992), Magneto might be from the very same time period as well.
That episode is aping 80s TV, so it would make sense he has period-apropos attire, wouldn't it?
