    The cicada?

Edit: yeah, it was a cicada. Idk if that’s mephisto or not. Feels like she may have ripped the bits of soul out of the kids and potentially turned them into animals. Like Wanda threatened to do to Pietro earlier in the season.

Ok... that’s the source of her power. It doesn’t make her any less of a witch. See this entire series for reference. She’s actually changing reality with her energy. That’s kinda the definition of magic.

And nothing like how real magic is depicted in doctor strange. You’re awfully against the idea she’s set up as a parallel.

If only we had ever had an example of someone changing reality with a red effect in the MCU.

Unless someone stated something on Twitter, the only main characters we had using 'actual' magic in the MCU are Dr. Strange and consorts.

I took it as metaphorical, lord of flies and all that.

The Bunny's name is Mr. Scratch, which is an old term for the devil. Just saying.

She didn’t get her powers from the reality stone. And that’s still magic, regardless of the power source.

    Is that stated somewhere?

I still think there's someone even behind Agatha. I mean, we thought it was all Wanda, because the Hex made us (and Monica) believe it was. And now we see a Sitcom trailer for "it was Agatha all along" and we suddenly are supposed to believe that she'd out herself in that way, not only by saying 'it was me'? Nah, something is up with that.
Someone else is using Agatha as a tool (by making her set up a trap for Wanda) and another scapegoat. His scapegoat for the 'normal people' is Wanda, because she already was regarded with mistrust after Lagos and Agatha as a scapegoat for the 'superhuman' people, because they won't believe every bad thing about Wanda.

Agatha's powers look like they come from the powerstone, maybe she was imbued with that. Maybe both Wanda and Agatha are using magic, but they do tap into other powers with it. None of it looks like Dr. Strange's "pure" magic. I mean, Wanda has the mindstone powers for that and I guess something else, because her red magic looks nothing like the mindstone stuff Vision is using for example. And Agatha seems to have another powersource too, that looks like it comes from the powerstone.

Yeah, that geometric shape of the hex isn’t anything like the geometry Strange uses. And just because they apply rigid geometry to their spells doesn’t mean it’s required to wield magic. Hell, Agatha literally says, “You didn’t think you were the only magical girl in town...”

There's definitely a place for Mephisto in the story. I'll leave that there.

Let me ask you this, why does Loki’s magic not look like Strange’s? Magic is all over the Thor movies, yes acknowledged as magic, none of it looks like Strange’s. Now, what explanation other than magic do you have for what is being done with the stones?

Pretty sure Loki learned magic from Frigga (in the MCU at least).
Wanda's abilities are described as psionic, coming from experimentation with the Scepter/Mind Stone.

Alright. Give it another week. Either she’s using a form of magic or she isn’t.

It's a form of magic, albeit different from what Dr. Strange is using (eldritch).

I never said they were using the same schools, I said Agatha appears to use the same kind of magic and that there are many forms in the MCU. Like the stuff we see from Loki and Odin. Wanda is using magic in the show 100%.

I never said she's not using magic, it's a weird take from some posters here. Psionic is using personal energy. Eldritch comes from Eternity (not introduced in the MCU so far) or other dimensions/entities iirc. Asgardian magic is another category in the MCU (mostly illusion/telekinesis/enchantment, and commonly imbued into items).

"Now, what explanation other than magic do you have for bolts of lightning and thunder?"

"Now, what explanation other than God do you have for the sun rising every day?"

Just because you can't explain it doesn't mean it's magic. That's why I am asking you, has it ever been stated anywhere what MCU Scarlet Witches powers are? For all you know the Gems are incredibly sophisticated devices. Do Marvel comics distinguish between magic and other forms of Superpowers like DC? Superman does supernatural things, but isn't magic, neither is Green Lantern. We have clear examples of devices in the MCU that look like magic, but aren't. The Bifrost, for example. Asgardian tech, in general. If we glance over to the X-men, you have lots of people who can do all sorts of crazy stuff and aren't magic.

Comic books tend to be unnecessarily specific when it comes to the origins of powers. Just because two characters seem to be doing the same thing doesn't mean their powers are the same. If Agnes is more powerful than Wanda, what does she need her for? I'm assuming she needs Wandas power to accomplish something. Maybe she's trying to put Mephisto's Soul into Visions body, but needs both magic and the powers of the infinity gems for that.

    Dude...

“Her powers, she’s never had any training, I’m talking about Scarlet Witch. She never had any training; she’s figuring it out. Arguably, you could say that that’s why her powers are much more chaotic and much more loose in the way that we showcased those light effects. In [Doctor Strange], some of what you might see today, even the cover of Entertainment Weekly, it’s much tighter. It’s all about focus. It’s all about pulling energies from other dimensions in an organized and purposeful fashion, which is why they can do a lot more than she can in, at least, a much more precise way.” - Kevin Feige

Also, Thor says "Asgardian sorcery is simply so advanced that it looks like magic" and "Your ancestors called it magic and you call it science. Well, I come from a place where they are one and the same thing"

I thought she did have some sort of training (if basic) under Strucker? We do see her doing things to try and learn her powers with building blocks. I also thought the stones were cosmic powers and not necessarily wizardry. Either way, I don't mind what they call it. This show is banging.
For the Alliance, and for Azeroth!
