Dont think its that bad to be done with gearing if you not aiming for higher difficulty, but i wouldnt be opposed to something like Justice points in pve, similar to Conquest in pvp.

Guys the game is to play the game because you like it . Would you like to make it an endless run for paragon levels like Diablo? Even in Diablo the Greater rifts got a cap at lvls.
With your logic when you get the rank you want in arena you have no reason to play.
WoW is an endless game you can do everything just check achievement list .

Nah, WoW PvP is not really for me. I've played DAoC extensively in the past, which is an older MMO. Anyone that played DAoC knows that it's incredibly hard to play PvP in another game, because DAoC PvP was just the best system ever.

I've been playing since beta as well and WoW addiction is definitely a thing. There's been times I've been worried I was playing too much to the detriment of RL relationships. That's part of why I'm glad I'm finally peeling back from the game. Once I realized there was really nothing for me in SL after the Covenant campaign was over I've just found it easier and easier not to log in for days at a time. Not even sure I'll log in tomorrow since, really, what is there for me to do? If you can find something to catch your attention it gets easier to pull away. So try some other games!

sounds kinda like you just enjoy complaining? a number of posters have suggested super valid alternate activities... so i guess if your question is "does blizzard really want people who play the game too hard out the gates in a tiny area of focused gameplay to get all the things they could possibly need and then burn out?" yea man. i mean if you dont wanna play the rest of the game sounds like thats the idea. roll an alt and do it again from a new point of view? Or just get on forums and compain about shit and get frustrated at the company for not funneling you even more loot while not asking you to step out of your comfort zone (pvp, mythic, etc)

Currently I'm sitting at 214 ilvl, having cleared Castle Nathria 10/10 on heroic.

All I am doing right now is logging in once a week, doing a +14 key, and logging off. That's it. There's literally nothing else to do that is worth my time when it comes to gearing.

Clearing Nathria 10/10 to maybe get something that is replaced anyway by something from the chest eventually? Not worth it. At all. Loot drops are so rare that I got one single item that was useful in over 40 heroic boss kills.

Is this really what Blizzard wants? For people to log in once a week?

It's just that point in the mmo when you've obtained max loot. You could either pursue mythic raiding or attempt challenges that don't involving increasing gear. There's a ton of content but if the only thing you want to do is get better gear then you need to find a mythic raiding guild.

Imo mythic Castle Nathria is still a challenge. There are only 49 (42 horde, 7 alliance) guilds in the world that have been able to clear it and it rewards better gear than heroic. If you logged on once or twice a week with a mythic raiding guild you would be progressing your character for sure and potentially earning a spot on the Hall of Fame board.

Good WOW expansions have an endpoint for progression.

One of the biggest praises of XIV is that it has a definite "stop here if you get bored" line. If you don't have anything you want to do you wait for the patch.

for me at least the problem is that i feel that i only log to farm gear and anything that isn't it is timegated, the WQs are boring and not worth doing, the buildings in covenants are lol also

Torghast got old real fast, Maw is Maw so... of all things what is to do in the game that is fun or worth doing? Now that the campaign is over not even that we have to do that's diferent and fun

i appreciate anyone still have fun or have fun doing the same content in ALTs but what's more to do in the game? they even timegated the timegate in the renown starting this week...

After the initial 1-2 month rush it’s down to just logging only to raid and do a few mythic+.

Like virtually all of WoWs existence, after a new patch/expansion bulk content dies out its back to raid/dungeon/PvP.

If none of that interests you, and you aren’t into collectibles (mounts, pets, achievements) then it’s a natural stopping point.

And that’s ok.

each of expansions having more and more merch in preorders had nothing to do with it - sure

at this point of BfA i had 12 alts on max level and gearing up all of them - having blast in warfronts/emmisaries/m+ - everythign i did was worthwhile because everythign could give me upgrades

now i have 4 - and gearing 2 - while 2 other i cba to do anything due to them being never being able to catch up with ash and current droprates to "mains" - while "mains" do 1 m+ a week plus 1 does hc CN and then log off since there is nothing to do in game .

SL is just horrible experience for casual players.

If you're playing this game for gear as your end goal you're playing the wrong game. Gear is a tool not the purpose.

Go for records:

Increase your m+ score.
Try to get high parses on bosses.

Those are mostly what motivates me to keep playing the game. Find something that you can keep doing and, most importantly, that you find fun. If you don't enjoy it, just take a break from the game until the next tier
