How do I kill arms warrior as sub rogue in 2v2/3v3?

As the title says, how do you kill warriors? Especially 2v2. Queuing with a disc priest. Resto sham/warrior feels impossible...

Try to get trinket and CDs and wait for DRs. Then you can use CC chains -> duel -> smokebomb etc.

against rshaman/warrior you should be doing frequent swaps to whatever target doesn't have earth shield.

it costs the shaman a lot of mana to keep swapping their ES around and it gives extra healing on that target, so every time you swap off the target that has ES you are wasting that mana they spent and denying that extra healing

an additional skill to learn vs. healer teams in 2s is to use blind -> sap on the healer when they are your kill target to reset your stun DRs when you've already got them at low health and have already used your interrupt. nothing is more terrifying as a healer than getting worked down to 20% by a Rogue, and just when you feel like you are going to get some breathing room to start getting your health up, you eat a full blind and sap while the Rogue fills his energy bar and prepares to reopen with a fresh set of stuns.

another skill to practice against shaman teams, generally speaking, is to learn what all of their totems do and figure out for which totems is it worth it to swap and kill the totem. MFD used to be particularly useful for this, since it resets when the target you used it on dies. I haven't tested it in a while to know if that still works, but if it still does then sniping totems with MfD eviscerate is a great way to reset your Dance charges faster while also denying the utility of key totems.

in general, in PvP if you notice you are struggling against a particular class or spec, it means you need to do more homework on that class or spec. learn their spellbook, learn all of their cooldowns, learn what their abilities do and what they look like. often when a beginner player says something like "I can't deal with X class" it's because they struggle to identify what abilities the opponent used and react appropriately (swapping off when major defensives are used, playing defensively when the opponent has big burst, etc).

also note that shaman teams are particularly deadly when the shaman has breathing room to stand back and purge often. if you are only trying to kill the warrior then you are definitely doing it wrong and will fight an uphill battle. in my experience, rogue+healer performs extremely well vs. warrior+shaman teams but you need to know how to make the shaman miserable and stressed out about surviving, rather than allowing him free reign to assist the warrior with offense. as previously stated, swapping around based on which enemy has the earth shield is a great way to make his life hell.

Subtlety Rogue was an amazing, incredible, unique, and fun spec prior to Legion and BfA

You don't have to kill the warrior you can kill either of them, depends who trinkets what and which defensives are used. You are on a timer with mana so you need to efficiently double CC>burst>escape several times and your priest needs to make good use of mindgames, do his best to avoid hex with los, all while getting fears on the shaman. If you start CC with a double stun it buys time for your priest to run in and fear off the stun without worrying about getting CC'd. You should not just be facetanking the warrior in an open fight, your team will get destroyed, they have the damage advantage, the mana advantage, the survivability advantage, all you have is CC and burst so it comes down to using it as frequently as DRs allow.

As a rogue you need to make good use of shiv and duel defensively, and smoke bomb. Try not to use stuns for peels unless you absolutely have to, from their perspective they want you to waste your stun DR defensively.

I'm not that experienced in pvp, but wouldn't it be more optimal to cc the warrior and try to nuke the shammy down first?

Most of the struggles of inexperienced Rogues in PvP, whether in duels, or arenas, or in BGs, boils down to exactly this. People try to play this class like it's a warrior standing toe to toe in the thick of it all, and then they cannot fathom why they keep losing every time.

Stop tunneling your meters and trying to win a dps race, you are just letting the zugs drag you down to their level where they will beat you with experience (and of course their kit which is suited to it). Start playing like a Rogue.

    +1, nice post
