Yeah, you have to have a recurring 6 month sub with a renewal day in the future. Doesn't matter how you pay for it.

Depending on country you can only start a sub with real money for instance in Germany. There are other countries where you can start it by battle.net balance.

But, in my case, it's going to sit amongst other forgotten mounts as it's ugly as hell.

Well for one, there isn't really a western version of the zodiac animals. There is the astrological signs, but not all animals there. And second, one could say we get plenty of "western" mounts as is.
