It's a dumb change pushed by teams with slower pitstops under the guise of safety. Red Bull have the fastest pitstops and they haven't made a dangerous error in years, it's actually the slower teams that have made those kind of errors. I hate it, they are trying to remove the competitive aspect of pitstops which often adds a lot to the racing.

Stupid change, and you can see it in the interviews that the teams that are pushing the safety line because they are slower, it's all a play and has nothing to do with safety in the slightest.

But McLaren did. But anyway, it's way too convenient, last week Toto says he has question marks about RB's fast pitstop (where MB lost 3 seconds despite having shorter stationarytime), one week later FIA says they want slower pitstop. Why now and why not 2 years ago when someone actually drove over a mechanic's leg?

You don't know because no one knows. Aston Martin clearly have this tech, its not just Red Bull.

Wow, Max spanked Lewis, but it's still fairly early, and it's hard to discount a 7-time champ.

Hopefully next week is less dull.

I mean the Red Bulls are just faster and Merc are focusing on next year. Really boring season inc. Lets hope next year is better.

It has taken Mercedes not upgrading their car at all for Lewis to be just slightly behind in the championship, long way to go yet and Mercedes have upgrades coming so Hamilton still in with a very good chance of turning this around. Fingers crossed for Max though, the new generation has some amazing talent.

James Allison confirmed they are still planning car and engine updates. Toto was just being a bit sore again last week.

People often compare bottas to hamilton, you know, the team mate vs team mate thing. But honestly, bottas' comparo would be versus perez. After a LOOOOONNNG time Max finally has a team mate that lets him take the battle to the front lines. Before Verstappen was holding back one merc, while dueling another. Now, the tables have turned. Perez might not get to be a main driver (because lets admit it, Max is a prodigy), but he is one hell of a driver in this outfit.

Not sold on sprints. Started fine, but settled into a snoozer.

Sprint just has the same issues as a regular race. Cars can't follow and get close enough to each other without DRS. So its gets boring after the first couple of laps when the cars all starts settling in to their positions. I can see it working better with next years cars if they manage to live up to their promises of closer racing.

Cars can't stick close to each other. Too long and maybe too wide. Compare that to smaller cars of early 1990s where the front wing could be almost underneath the back wing of the other car.

Until they can get that close again, races short and long will have same issues in regards to getting close and over taking.

Just seems weird to qualify for a chance to ruin your Sunday. Maybe wait until 2022's changes for closer running.

Anywho, HOLY SHIT Max's crash. Glad he's OK.

Bleh, I was hoping Leclerc would win, even if it hurt McLaren in the points.

Tell Pirelli to make better tires. Think there's potential for the format, evidently it pushes rivalries and gives drivers and teams more to plan with for hopefully closer races.
