Things you wouldn't buy a cheap version of?

    I will start with

Soda - hate the cheap stuff

    Shoes, followed by toilet paper

Shoes, toilet paper, spices, make-up, jeans and bras. The quality is significantly worse and the savings minimal when you buy cheaper & lower quality versions of them.

Helmet. I bought an expensive helmet, my friend bought a cheap helmet and then criticized me for wasting hundreds of dollars more than I had to. Clearly he doesn't think his helmet is protecting anything valuable. (Hehe)

Mesh shirts... cheap enough fabric and you lose a nipple...

    Shoes..boots in my case.

I find myself reminded of that "secondhand underwear" thread for some reason.

    Feet...important. Shoes are an investment.
If I don't get a wide size, little piggies get painful blisters. Boots I wear last a few years.

I try to skip cheap meat. Frozen meat too. It's cheap for a reason.

I have also been burned by cheap shoes. I moved my hike distance up from 10 to 15km last year and your feet get annihilated with bad shoes.
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

basically, most things if I can afford it.

top of the list: boots, knives, cookware, really tools of any variety you're planning to use more than once in your life(for all other tools, there is harbor freight.)

Trying to cut out Cheap food
It’s either tastes horrible or it’s unhealthy for you.

Cheap tools. I’m more likely to misplace/break tools I got for cheap.

Idk - lots of shoe brands just prove that people just love capitalism for the sake of spending money. It's all about the return on your investment. I'd rather have $20 shoes that last a year than a $60 shoe that lasts two. Price of shoes is not correlated with comfort.

But those are cheep vs super cheep shoes. Idk if I'd spend less than $100 on shoes.
