He literally planned a war which was right from the beginning designed to be a genocide, though he thought they would "just" commit genocide on the night elves through permanently destroying them as a nation. At most Months before his death. He never expressed remorse for the genocides he commited, the most we saw him do was a self-centered manpain pity show. He deserved his death and killing him was probably the most noble thing Sylvanas ever did.

And tbh, I hope Sylvanas survives. She at least has the redeeming qualities to be an entertaining character. Interacting with her literally improves Anduin as a character, compared to anything we saw prior with him.

Baine is not independent, we need to safe him from death almost every exp pack and in WC3 aswell.
Thrall is also not independent he is crying on every turn and needs people to tell him what to do and get his act together.

The two things pulling against each other here, as I’ve said elsewhere, are the effort of altering existing forsaken voice lines that have iconically worshiped Sylvanas since forever Vs the utter mess that would be validating the toxic underbelly of players that insist on playing actual villains in what is unquestionably a heroic story.

I don’t know which side this is going to fall on, but one of those two factors is not going to fit well with whatever happens. Sylvanas can’t “win” here because that would just be a catastrophic message and a failure of storytelling, but they are not going to delete “dark lady watch over you/victory for Sylvanas” from the game.

But NB are ultimately expendable fluff for one expansion, despite some crazy elf fans' spam in these boards. They are in no way as important or iconic to the game (as a whole) as the Forsaken, who have been playable since freaking Vanilla, and whose society was structured around Sylvanas in an odd interdependence of sorts. They worshipped her because she had liberated them from the Scourge, not because of some ridiculous totalitarian regime.

That's basically what when you apply heavy handed retcons just in order to create cheap drama, as was the case with Sylvanas in Before the Storm.
